OT: My Christmas Present Arrived Today: Fish ON!!!

Well my Christmas present arrived today!!
A LIFETIME fishing License.. Huray!!

Can't wait to go out and use it now!!!
Does anyone else Fish, Crab, or Clam?

I think the base license is like $600 or something, and then they have a bunch of addons for more...

I'm not 100% sure on price cause it was a gift..

I love to fish. I used to go all the time, but with kids it has been hard to get out there. I have lots of big salmon, steelhead, striped bass, and shad right here on the American River.

This might be a dumb question, but if it is a lifetime license, why does it have a valid through date?

Funman, I hate to sound like the grim reaper, but your lifetime license says it expires December 31, 2008.

I call first choice on 3 corals.

I guess Steve doesn't have a very long lifetime. I think it's fake. Notice the weight and DOB field is left blank. ;-) Just kidding. BTW - I think the "valid" dates is the date that that license can be sold.

The license cost is based on age:

9 years or younger $432
10-39 years old $710
40-61 years $639

Almost worth getting one for your kids before they turn 10, that's a pretty good deal (If they live in CA for the rest of their life)

I blanked out a bunch of the numbers like weight, and DOB before posting it online for the world to see

The reason it has a valid date on it is because it's like you ATM card, They know it's going to get trashed.
SO they send you a new one every year till you're dead

ALSO if for some reason you do something REALLY dumb and they revoke it, then you won't get another valid one next year.. So they can keep tabs on it so to speak..
