Well, I am taking my youngest to College in Florida on August 24. I will tell you how we are dealing with it....
1. Taking a cruise the day after we drop him off.
2. Renting his room to a local college student(very studious young man, quiet, a friend of my oldest son).
3. Enjoying NOT having parties in our backyard on a regular basis.
4. Enjoying NOT having a smart aleck mouth that knows everything hanging around.
5. Not worrying that every time we take a weekend trip, the cops will end up breaking up a party at our house.
6. Not worrying that one of my cars will be smashed up all the time.
Now if I could just get the oldest to move out, I would be in heaven.
The reality is, my wife has been a little pouty about this, but she will live. I survived for 25 years before I had kids, and had a great time.
I love them dearly, but life does NOT revolve around them.
There are so many things to do in this world, you should be glad your job is done..... go out and have fun!
Oh, and by the way - they will be back, at least most of them, at some point.
