Thursday night my fire department got called for a garage fire. My chief went on location reporting a fully involved garage. Im the big one waiting for water on the line.

I LOVE WHAT WE DO!!!!!!

Nice, my dept hasn't had a working structure fire in three years. Hard for us to be firefighters when we see no fire.

Ya it was sad. There was nothing we could do. There was a car, rider lawnmower, generator and propane up the wazzo in there. Had to use foam to get it out.

Thats what the new guy next to me on the truck was saying. It was his 1st fire. Ive lost count for myself.

Jon, Just wanted to say Thank You for what you do! I think so many people (not us here) but in general never appreciate firemen until they need ya! They go above and beyond and risk their lives daily for us and I think they are under appreciated. We donate every spring/summer for our firemens raffles,BBQ,ect....but they are also at our house 2 times a year when our basement fills with water because of a power outage lol Again though.... above and beyond just fires! You guys are amazing! and Thank YOU!

Tks guys. I have to admit Shawna that pumping basments isnt the most fun! More so if you boots fill with water and you are stuck the rest of the night with wet nasty feet. I enjoy almost every part of firefighting, but then there are some calls I wish I stayed home. Funny thing is i can drop money on cool tools and stuff as easy as corals.

sometimes i don't get paid either...stage manager for theaters in Rochester. but the quality of the time i spend doing it, and the lives (especially of the high school students) that i touch or direct? priceless.

i know what you mean...however, i'm not saving lives...but i am helping to cultivate the next generation of production theater technicians. i love my kids.
