OT: NBA Playoffs

What about the ball hitting the rim and them not resetting the shot clock? Reggie was right, the game has a way of balancing itself out

Spoken like a true Lakers fan:) I don't like LA but i am not biased one way or the other. That last no call was ridiculous, period.

I dont believe in make up calls, that is awful. What is Joey Crawford doing reffing Spurs games, That is highly controversial in itself.

I dont believe Barry should be shooting 3 free throws the foul was on the floor and then Barry chucked it up there. But he should have been given 2 free throws. Maybe he misses 1 and LA wins anyways but he should at least been given the oppurtunity.

Even on 1st and 10 this morning they were saying how this looks like a conspiracy and that they know the networks want the boring Spurs out and they brought up why crawford is refing the Spurs games.

I remember right before this series started. Stern was on Jim Rome and Rome was all over stern asking why is Crawford on this series that he has no business reffing Spurs games.

I'm sure Rome knows why. because they dont want the Spurs to go again they play boring basketballl and a lakers-Celtics series would blow the roof off the ratings.

There have been some great series this year ands this one as well it is just a shame when something like this happens. it taunts its for me and reminds me why i dont watch B-ball very much anymore

WOW..............can you say HATER!!!! It takes a Hater to point out one bad call at the end of the game in a game FULL of blown calls most of them benefiting the Spurs:D What about Duncan walking all night or Kobe taking 29 shots and getting hacked on 30% of them yet not one trip to the free throw line, how about Gasol getting mugged all night with no calls. If there were a conspiracy don't you think there would have been 4 Spurs with 3 fouls before half rather then 4 Lakers??

Bottom line is officiating in the NBA is Garbage period!! With 80+ games it all washes out in the end.....................so they say!!

Spurs are tired and it shows! Stop Hatin, sit back and enjoy some good NBA Basketball:lol:

the only reason kobe is any good and the reason he scores so much is stated in the post about me lol TAKING 29 SHOTS lol jordan could score momre then kobe in HALF the shots :)-----now theres a real bball star hahah but so far playoffs are awsome i cant wait to see lakers vs celtics in teh ship.....just like old times

Okay...new subject, new controversy:)

I've enjoyed watching Kobe throughout the years. From the two airballs in Utah to now. Yes...he deserved the MVP, but is he the best player in the league?

Honestly...the Lakers would be a 68-win team if you replaced Kobe with Lebron. Lebron pretty much owns Kobe head-to-head now, and has a nice winning streak over him. Even with a completely crap team and inept front office, he's still able to go deep in the Playoffs.

Can you imagine!?!

kobe IMO didnt desreve mvp

heres why

1.Lakers still make playoffs with out him
2. Hornets DONT make playoffs with out paul
3. Best Player on Best team-thats the def of mvp-so that would be KG
4. Celtics are a 6 or 7th seed with out kg
5.Cavs Dont make playoffs with out LJ
6.Spurs suck with out duncan

so many worthy mvps this year

:p

Seriously, though. You do have a valid point. I've mentioned before that I believe the Lakers success has a lot to do with Fisher returning. Is it more so than Kobe's emergence as a leader? Tough to say. So far, Kobe's body language and attitude have held up well during their losses.

However, I don't think KG deserves the same consideration as the others you've mentioned. He's only shown 4th quarter mettle once in his career, and it was basically out of necessity because Cassell was out of that game. It's unfair, since Kobe has had far more opportunities to shine in big games than KG, but he has no excuse anymore. Not on this Boston team.

imn just saying this year he was the best player on the best team....and if you look up nba mvp thats what it says it will go to the best player on the best team.....

That's true. However, I think the media had trouble considering the Celtics as the Best Team. Record-wise, yes...but being in the East didn't help their campaign.

but look at there record against the west 25-5 thats amazing so i dont think it had to do with that bc they would have had the same record if they where in the west if not better

All I will give Lebron over Kobe is size!! With his size and speed he can man handle anyone in the NBA including Kobe but if I am starting a team from scratch I would take Kobe over Lebron. Kobe wins games.............2 seconds left down by 2 who do you give the ball too, Kobe or Lebron??? Lebron still has A LOT of growing up to do.

As for MVP It was well deserved the only other player in my eyes worthy of it was CP3.............that dude can ball!!!

Despite their record against the West, it's still difficult to call them the best. All the talent and competitiveness is in the other coast. One reason why 9 of the last 10 MVPs were from the West. You can make a case that Iverson didn't even deserve the one that did go to the East, because, let's face it, MVPs don't shoot 42%

how can u say cp3 was the only!

lbj-they suck with out him
duncan-wont make the playoffs with out him
kg-6 or 7th seed with out him

ps kobe is overrated he scores yes...but he shots 35 shots a game! lbj is much more of a team player if i start a team today im taking lbj or cp3 all day..i would not even think about taking kobe to start a team

right but the real def of mvp is MOST VALUABLE PLAYER not the best player in the nba and that year iverson deserved it they would be nothing with out him that year thus making him the mvp to his teams good record...and how can u say taht 25-5 against the west is amazing!!

I'll give Kobe that. He's won games and titles, but that's with Shaq. Not as the team leader. If we're going to compare Lebron to Kobe, it's a clean slate after Shaq left LA.

Kobe's great...but I just can't see him reeling off the Cavs final 25 points against the Pistons like Lebron did last year in the ECF. Think about it. What if Kobe was on the Cavs instead of Lebron? Kobe would've strangled Danny Ferry with his own hands.
