OT: Roofing Accessibility Ideas

I've got an off-topic question--maybe some of you'll have an idea for me.

I've got some rot on the eves of my house. Previous owner never cleaned gutters and when I bought the house I ended up replacing them. :( Now, this spring or summer I'm going to do some painting and I figure this is the best time to fix this problem. I'm just not sure how to access it. Right below this are the powerlines to my house.

Any ideas? I've thought about borrowing a fiberglass ladder, but I still don't like the idea of being so close. I could rent a one of those bucket machines w/ the big boom, but that's gonna be pricey. :(

I can't wait to get outside and get my house fixed up :)

Thanks,
Jason

oh heck thats not so bad just watch to make sure coating is not gone off wires and you should be alright I would not use a alum. ladder though and you will be alright. Just be careful .

Ya, there is still insulation on the wires. I only have an aluminum ladder, so maybe a fiberglass would be the best. Still kind of nervous though working around the unfused power lines. I'm not sure I know anyone with a 24ft fiberglass ladder either. :( Anyone got one?

Scaffolding may work, but then I'd have to assemble them around the power lines and it probably wouldn't go over so well without banging into them and what not.

What's unfortunate is in about 2 years time I will be building a garage and I plan to put a new circuit breaker load center in the garage. I'll use that as the main disconnect w/ the meter and then feed the house from there underground--no more aerial feed. :) Can't not fix the eve until then though. :(

Thanks for the ideas. Anyone else?
