OT: Season MVP - Nash

Wow....if that's true Kobe will never win an MVP.
As long as the award is for "valuable" rather than "outstanding", it will be controversial. Nash is an outstanding player. As a small white guy, how can I not root for him? But Kobe is clearly the greatest player in the world.

Here's the quote on ESPN:
The announcement may not come for two weeks, according to the Arizona Republic. But the paper, and others, report that the voting shows Nash edging LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki, Chauncey Billups and Kobe Bryant for the MVP.

Doesn't mean that Kobe finished 4th necessarily.

There are preliminary numbers from the east valley tribune with total points placing Kobe at fourth.

I guess you have to give it Nash. No one expected Phoenix to win over 50 games without Amare and Joe Johnson.

No one thought the Lakers would exist after Shaq left, yet they are in the playoffs...ur point?

Kobe is clearly teh best player in the L, hands down. Nash has an outstanding lineup that are just overseen thats all.

^^^^^^^^^^VERY TRUE^^^^^^^^^^^^

kobe IS the BEST basketball player of all time when it comes down to how he handels himself, shoots, draws fouls, shoots, understands the game, shoots and so much other stuff, and shoots

i guess thats why he is changing his jersey number to 24????lol what a joke. I hope there isnt some kind of underlineing statement that 24 is better than 23 because the Kobe needs to sport the 22 jersey number!

i meant to say very true to My F1sh R D34D! s post
and honestly i couldnt care less if 24 is better than 23 or 22 cause kobe is better than ANY number

well to state he is the best player may be true as a individual. But as a MVP on a team you must make your team better. Can i say Nash is better than KObe, heck no. Kobe is 10x better of a player than Nash. However, Kobe doesnt do much for his team mates, while Nash makes his team a powerhouse. The definition of a MVP on a team isnt one who is able to make 81 points but one who can change and make all the players around him better and with the players stated above, Steve Nash imo does deserve the MVP.

it does, not best player! Nash is not the best player in the NBA by far but does make a huge impact on his team. Kobe is more of a individual player, not taking away anything from him. He has god like talent but needs to grow up sometimes.

FYI..... #24 is Kobe's high school jersey. That's why he changing it apparently.

Im sure he wanted to be like or better than 23 back then also.

Take Nash from Dallas & Dallas is still a good team...................

Take Kobe from the Lakers & what do you have?????????

I still think Kobe is more valuable to his team then Nash is

Steve :D

Well suns are pretty sorry without Nash but Lakers are a damn good team. You cant say Kobe makes the lakers, they dont play hard for several reasons and if you ever played basketball or any team sport youll understand, the way he treats his team mates is not proffesional at all. I love watching the Lakers play when Kobe is on the bench. They look like the Lakers and not a team one a single identity.

UHM wait. Nash plays on Pheonix! oh man Steve your gonna get burned on that but i get your point.
