osx is linux but it dosnt count
i mean linux distros like ubuntu, mandrake, etc...

dos LOL vista has pretty bells and whistles and can use all familiar software and games...
ubunto pretty good and all laptop stuff works good..
linpus cant get my wireless to work...
I am too used to a 2 button mouse so have a hard time with apple

not sure what I like best...

Ubuntu is a rock solid Linux distro .... my favorite. FYI, You can also install some Windows apps in linux as well.... lookup Wine Emulator

I run opensuse, Suse Enterprise, freebsd and many other types of unix and linux distros. The best OS for a server is freebsd, for a desktop its ubuntu. KDE desktop for me.

C'mon Andy is that all stopping you from getting out of the dark ages. FYI, any two button mouse works perfect in OSX, I run Mac OSX leopard and have Parallels installed which boots Win XP just for those apps that are win only.
I have the best of both worlds!!!! :D

I like Apple a lot. The OS is built on a BSD kernel, which is basically BSD with a rock solid desktop. Its just that their computers are so expensive. I think that is what is stopping Apple from really growing in the computer side.

My favorites are Ubunutu, OSX, Vista, and XP, in that order. Only problem is that I play games a lot of the time, so I can't switch to Linux or OSX because then I couldn't play, and I'll never ever ever play shooter games on a console. Blech. Vista I like more than XP because the interface is prettier... basically.... XP is the rock stable default, and usually worked whenever needed.

All that said, I run dual-boot Ubuntu and Vista and have not booted into Ubuntu in about 8 months.

ive always liked macs but their hardware is super expensive
you can make a decent pc for about 600$
macs cant touch that price point
mac will always have a niche but there is a reason they are # 2

anyways @ the end of the day i could get over the lame 1 button mouse and the cheesy marketing
but mac will always be # 2 if the price does not drop

I have 2 comps (1 laptop and 1 desktop) I have between the two 5 semi different os's the desk is xp pro. 1 laptop hard drive is xp media center and the other is tri boot vista ultimate, ubunto and linpus...
at one time when I used to play heavily with comps I had a quad boot machine. dos, 95,98,2000
I used to be a wiz and comps but as anyone knows PC comp techs they get stressed out... thats why I work on printers and fax machines now
