OT: UC acceptances for my son!

Congrats Sang! Very exciting news. I'm sure even harder and more competitive to get in now than back when we were in college. With that said, Go Bears!!!

I've gone through so many tanks, it's ridiculous! No pics yet of the new tank, lol, would you expect anything different?

CAL will notify him on 3/30 so he has a fighting chance with them. Come on Cal!! He's devastated but will bounce back. Even if not accepted now, he can always apply for transfer after two years, and still be a UCLA or Cal alumni.

Nah you're doing it wrong, Top Ramen and beans for HIM, I mean he's a college kid he'll probably be eating that anyways, whatever meal plan money he would have goes to feed you :D
 
Thanks for sharing the great news! Anyone he's picks is a good school. UCLA and Cal are fine, but what's wrong with UC Davis? I think I did okay. ;-)

It'll give you an excuse to visit some of the Davis/Sac reefers.
 
I would love for him to pick Davis but I don't think it's going to happen. He told me he would pick La Jolla over Davis any day of the week.
 
Congrats on getting one step closer to having kids out of the house. J/k. If he gets into cal have him get a job with the parking service. Good pay and easy job that offers a lot of time for studying on the job. Plus working events can be interesting. I met Sharon stone on that job.

Thanks for the tip! I hope Cal takes him. He deserves it.
 
He may end up loving CAL. I did. Like your son, UCLA was my 1st choice, mainly cuz I thought the girls would be cuter :beer: I got in, but all my buds went to CAL so I followed and ended up having some of the best years of my life there :celeb1:

I really don't think he can go wrong with any of the UC's that have accepted him so far. I just feel bad as he worked his *** off for the past 4 years and wants to go to a top tier school.
 
As of 4:00 pm today, please welcome the newest Golden Bear!! He did it! I am so proud of him and just elated!!
 
Congratulations. If you can make it out of Cal, you can make it anywhere. I, my brother, my soon to be sister in law are all Cal alumni.
