OT: Warning to South Hill Residence

During the past 12 months, I been reading about more and more theft happening in the South Hills area. Last fall there was a home invasion but it sounds like it was pepetrated by a school mate of the child that lived there. A neighbor of mine has his Jeep doors stolen last year, which they hit the entire area hitting quiet a few Jeeps. Then just in the past few weeks I read about a rash of break ins but it wasn't that close to us. Also they said people been trying unlocked cars all over the area and taking anything not glued down.

Well, last night they appearantly went door to door on our street trying to break into homes that were occupied, including mine! They didn't get in but there is clear evidence that they tried the door and window. It is very concerning to me how brazen they are when they attempt to break into occupied homes. So in case anyone else lives in the area be sure to keep your doors and windows locked.

Luckily we did already, but now this is prompting me to take additional steps for security of family and property.

They passed it here a little while back. So your now protected if you try to protect your family... sad that they even had to develop such a law.

There is always vandalism on my street. The ex cop across the road from me has something terrible happen to his vehicles like once a year. About 5 years ago a house a couple of doors down from me was being renovated. About the same time the same guy (excop) was on vacation, and his home was broken into. Someone managed to get into a back window somehow. They did this the night before the guy came home... it had snowed, and the morons who tossed his house left a clear trail back to the home that was being renovated, it was the contractors doing the work! Not sure what has happened to this area, I would hate to kill someone over the junk I have in my house.

Neighbor told us they heard the guy again last night at the house and looked out the window to see him. Once they started to make noise so he took off. The cops were called but they didn't find him.

I thought they might be back but I figured it would be a few months, not a few nights!

We have a 70lbs Boxer.

I have 3 dogs and a broadsword...no one bothers my house. Kinda wish someone would, dog food is getting expensive
