OT - What the hell are those stickers?

I know about goat heads but there's another weed in my yard that yields stickers that are even worse. They grow on a taller weed, not the low to the ground goat head, that looks like grass. When they flower they end up with some wickedly sharp little stickers that almost always draw blood.

Anyone know what they're called?

Are the stickers small like a goathead with more stickers or is it bigger?

They're pretty small, like the goatheads. I should have taken a picture of the one I just pulled out of my foot.

Nah - puncture vine == goathead.

i thought puncture vine was similar to the russian olive plant. ya know the one with long needles on the branches that get u no matter what not another name for goatheads. just shows ya i dont know everything lmao

oh wait purple flowers i get em in my garden area. pretty flower but the stems and leaves are nasty gotta pull em up from the bottom under the soil so as to not get poke? finally found the name for those its a type of belladona or nightshade
