OT: WNY spring turkey season

My brother and his buddy had three down by 8:30. I get to go Tuesday and can't wait.

It happens. I was planning on taking my .22 handgun to shoot squirrels during bow season this year. Apparently you're not allowed to carry any gun while bow hunting during bow season. Definitely read the regulations book.
 
Fyi...3 yrs ago I hurried a shot and got 2 at once. I failed at letting the second bird get clear of my intended target. Sometimes things happen very fast.
 
I'm in the blind at the moment. Got set up about forty five minutes ago. Been a slight rain since I got here. Definitely a bit chilly, too. Hopefully its a fruitful morning, you'll hear about it either way!
 
Been out since 5:30. One gobbler but he quit calling back. Might be henned up. He was a ways away though.

He was probably 600-800 yds away and on the other side of a swamp. Unfortunately had a curfew so couldn't stay long. Drove by a bunch of unhunted fields where we usually see them. Fields were empty. Too much rain when not in a blind.

took a friend out today. he missed clean at 30yds. monster tom ,the bird was clueless, and gave him a second shot. the bird put on a great show. it was hard for me not to pull the trigger at 20 yds. also had a group of 8 deer pass by at 10 feet. i know i was stinky and had nasty coffee breath. great day to be in the woods.
