I am preparing my shopping list for Saturday's big event and I want to have a buffet of toppings for the brats. What are your favorite toppings? Even if you are not coming, I would love to hear your suggestions. Here is what I have so far.

Kraut
Sauteed Onions and Green Peppers
BBQ sauce
Guacamole
Catsup
Mustard
Relish Sweet or Dill

Carolina sauce and habaneros all the way!!!

but the only necessary topping is beer :D

I put my brats in a pan of beer the night before and let them soak until I cook them. Set the beer pan on the grill so it get nice and hot, Straight outta the pan and onto the grill. Cook them slow so not to crack the casing, get some nice slightly crispy grill marks on both sides of the brats, then back in the beer pan they go for a good half hour on the grill, then, straight to the brat bun(no hot dog buns) smothered with Kraut and some of my fiery hot Caribbean red Habanero sauce.

Man....my mouth is watering now. Too bad we can't make it. I'll be camping next to a lake in Indiana; fishing pole in one hand beer in the other and some brats-n-home-grown steaks on the grill.

Da#% I'm hungry now.

I prefer a good cheddar brat with some catsup and mustard or a good beer brat with onions and green peppers.... another mix that is good with plain ole hot dogs is catsup and pepsi mixed... yum... and if you got any family members who hunt I prefer some quail breast soaked in kikkoman and brown sugar then wrapped in bacon and grilled til the bacon is done...excellent dish

Are you really!!!

your gonna LOVE it! :D make sure you simmer it a little longer then that recipe calls for and make it the night before so it has some time to sit.

I have my own recipe of it if you would rather? well its actually not mine but justin's (reggafish) if you would rather.

That's a great fixin's list, Micheal. I'm sure the Carolina sauce wont disappoint. If reggaefish has a recipe and breutus is endorsing it, it must be delicious... They're both certifiably BBQ grillmaster insane.

Couple more things added to the list.

Kraut

BBQ sauce
Guacamole
Catsup
Mustard
