OT: Your other hobbies besides reefing...

Years back I had a Lotus Esprit I4 turbo. Fun car. Understeered too much for my tastes, although I did have it snap oversteer and spin on me once showing off. Whoops.

I dropped some cash on that car. Fikse wheels, custom shocks and springs when no one made aftermarket stuff for the car, custom turbo.

For what I spent on that thing I could have retired by now. ;)

I WISH I had waited about 5 years and got the twin turbo esprit.

But, I think the new cars are much better balanced.

Cars, but recently sold my 76 Datsun 280z turbo so have more time to learn reefing.

DRAG RACER>.... yes i got it from a dealer in oak lawn.... i hope i will not run into too many troubles... i got it with 17 k on it... .. you recomend moding stuff to it.. or keep it more stock.

Its been a few years but I know a guy who still works for a dealer out in Arizona. Not many mods are needed for that car. They handle like a go cart as is. We did put an aftermarket suspension set up on one. Had remote oil reservoirs and really improved the handling. But made it ride a little rougher. The turbo kits REALLY liven them up. We did one at our shop when I worked there. It is right when they came out so there were still a few bugs that needed to be worked out. Otherwise most of the stuff is cosmetic more or less. Only issues you will probably have with that car is AC not working and the occasional check engine light which is usually just a fuse. And door lock/release handle not working.

And door lock/release handle not working.

haha i seem to have problems with mine on that... the drivers side doesnt alway want to close... i was gonna go have that looked at... :reading:..
other than that i think i got a good one... no rain anywhere in the car.. no even in the tiny trunk... ac seems to work good... i tried it, but ofcourse i wont know till i hit 100* weather...

i dont want it rougher than it already is... i was thinking to make it more comfortable... :) its a big jump from a sedan to this.. :) well maybe a small jump... :worried: either way.. i like it so far.. i want to keep it for 2 years or so until the prices drop on the EVORAS cause i want one really bad.

If I had one, I don't think I could resist putting those Rotrex superchargers on it.
Exhaust system. Nitron shocks. Lightweight wheels. Performance LSD.
Then replacing the major body panels with carbon fiber.

Did I say how happy I stick with motorcycles? :)

I just put my engine back in my 01 Prelude after three years, if I can resist buying reef stuff for a month or so the 1k I need for a full exhaust, computer cable and chip burner I should be pushing 400+ whp (not magical story tale horse power) in no time. Last dyno run was 330 whp with the stock cat on and only 14 psi, I can run 30 psi all day. If I had Rick's kind of money I could go with full custom turbo manifold and larger intercooler and wastegate and put in some 116 octane to make 500-600 whp. But it's a street car and I have fish to feed :fun4:

Once tank is full I want to build this one too.

Clean honda! Few among the honda game. I'm not knockin on the car, but is there any reason you decided to go to such extreme mods on the prelude? I've never seen a fwd be able to put down that much power on the road. Now that S2k is a different story... I love them! especially with the hard top :)

Because they haven't figured out the laws of physics and weight transfer yet. JK impressive for a 4 banger. I respect anything that can make power.

And before you get all paranoid and go find the one picture of an S2000 with the front wheels off the ground, I'm just giving you a hard time..... :lol2:

I'm in the same boat as Drag Racer, I love seeing power and passion out of any car....

same here, i respect cars that are done properly, props to that prelude. On the other hand if you had a gazillion stickers on that thing with all the latest fads on it i would call you a ricer :p
I can respect the power you guys get out of those car but there is nothing like the sweet sound of a v8 or in ferraris case a v12.

In my free time I mostly hunt down and consume the children of my enemies.

Thats a joke people, thus the

haha yea, i respect any clean/ well done car. I guess i'm just someone who isn't about how much power i'm putting out. I'd rather do suspension mods and chassis braces and have something that'll handle like it's on rails... of course having a car like that with big power also is nice too... :spin1:

i guess my car will never be on the back two wheels .... no mater what i do.. but i hope it stays on the road well.... cause im slowly pushing the limits.. well by that i mean... every turn i take... im slowly going faster than i ever did with my audi... and so far im impressed ...

i say that a few days at the track and a few lessons wont hurt... it will teach me wha i can and cant do... to bad the season is over...

wait i retract my statement... i CAN have the car with the two fron wheels of the ground if i lean on the trunk hahahahahaha :)

hehehe, i've seen a few exige S's at a couple of the autocross events and theyre SWEET. I've not driven a small rwd car yet... i wonder what it's like on the handling standpoint. my awd is great and stable thru turns, but i still get understeer. best handling mods i've ever done was a set of coilovers and an adjustable rear sway bar.
