hell yes, glad to see people like beer as much as i do :) west coast brews have my vote by far. you guys ever try brews from lost coast or six rivers? highly recommended, esp. great white from lost coast.

hard to find other females to enjoy my beer taste, though. i had to pry a miller lite out of my best friend's hands last time we hung out. my guy friends are usually more up to a day/night of beer drinking. i was unfortunately convinced to try pabst recently.... it very nearly was the end of me (and my self respect.) foulest taste ever:thumbdown

Haha! I got at least 2 or 3 of my homegirls into beer! One of them even works at Pyramids...( = hook up for pyramid brew:D ) One of my brother's homegirls is loves Mickeys..another likes steel reserve..and they would be killin' the 40's... now that's pretty hard core... Me though..I prefer not to indulge myself in cheap malt liquor. hahaha ..but yea .. in general you don't see too many girls into beer. They usually find it nasty and rather take shots of liquor.

The only thing that I do find annoying though, is when certain girls swear that their favorite liquor (patron, Grey Goose, Henn...something that is moderately high priced) is SOooOoOsooOSOsoOO good! And then they drink it with a Chaser such as juice or coke. Apparently it must not be that good to you because you gotta cover up the taste with soda or juice.

Pabst eh... apparently you haven't had milwaukee's Worse...I mean Best. haha . to me Milkwaukee's Best is terrible....but i guess that's how you market bad beer.

strange how family and kids take priority over "hobbies" and once favorite pastimes :D.

jimdogg, the highest rating i got was a meager 1201. played with the local club a few times and did a few tourneys. don't even know what ranking system is used nowadays. i believe the rules, format and equipment specs have changed since i last played.

So whens the first match!!!! ;)

As for equipment changes, yes I do believe there are quite a few new materials available for both blades and rubber. I know many pro's are now using "speed glue" in their matches, and regluing their rackets evey game. Not sure if this is standard in tourney's though.... or even how new it its......

But they have some GREAT tables at sac state...... hint...hint....

Jim,

I gave up drinking is 01 havn't had a drop since but before that it was crazy!

I loved Sierra Nevada pale ale. Have heard Fat Tire is quite delish but wasnt around when i drank.

Bored, I loved Hold em and Cigars.

We have the best cigar shop around right here in loomis. They usally do a cigar party monthly on the 3rd weekend Rocky Patel will be here,

They always give you the first cigar free have free catering by taekers and alsways have free beer. Last time they had 2 kegs, But usally they bring in a ton of corona.

My brother keeps telling me how great that shop is. Never been there. Rocky Patel will be there? I'll have to stop in and ask what the hell is up with his Java line! He's been slackin. Its almost impossible to find Javas anywhere (online that is). Just snagged a couple at the Tinderbox in Reno on the 4th.

hey bored i went to HSU for two years :) i had an apt up in mckinleyville. interesting place, huh?

bngowe.... i will slap anyone i see drinking with a chaser. as for your friends drinking 40s of mickeys and steel reserve, those are some girls i wouldn't mess with. haha.

anyone ever done the make-your-own-beer thing at brew it up downtown? looks like fun.

A friend of mine did. and it was the best beer i've ever had. He lives in Sonoma, and is a hippie, go figure!

As for my hobbies....wife, kids, 4x4's, computers, and messing with Ed's head.

brewed my own a while back.. it came out ok.

I know that there's a store in albany/ berkeley area that specializes in brewing your own beer / wine. Always drove by but never had time to drop it.
I think the store is called Oak Barrel.

Davey, I enjoy a good cigar as well, but as far as beers go? Too many good ones to choose ;) But I will say that I love bitter ales like Red Hook ESB and Sierra :D and probably miss them the most.... or even a good Cab. A little Silver Oak perhaps..... its a tie.

Beer used to be a major hobby of mine before I got epilepsy and started prescription Meds. which don't mix well.

In college we could fill that wall in less than a month. (Of course I went to the #1 Party school in the country for 5 1/2 years; rated #1 twice while I was there.) We made a Christmas tree out of forty's that was over 6 feet tall one year. (We didn't break it or kill ourselves too!)

Loved:
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Sierra Nevada Pale Bock
Miller High Life 32oz (Sometimes you need to keep to a budget)
Stella
Most Micro brews (definitely love to try them out)

Disliked: (These seemed common and popular in the college days)
Natural Ice
Bud ***** (any flavor)
Keystone
Miller
PBR (My friends worshiped this as the budget beer of choice, I thought it was just foul)
Disliked most other 22, 33, 40 ounce drinks.

Sierra in general (Except Porter or too much bigfoot) would have to be one of the favorites. While working at United Van Lines in college I got to move one of the founding (former) owners of the brewery. He sold his shares and bought 500 acres of almonds, and lives off of his farm and other investments. He had a house that had to have been over 10,000 sq feet. His daily driver was a Yukon. He had 3 garages with a total of 14 spots. One garage contained his safe (at least 6 x6 realistically a vault) The other 2 had his hobby cars. He had 3 porsches and 2 Ferrari's, Every car had a stack of racing tires placed next to it for when he decided to throw them on the trailer and head to the track.

Amazing house. Huge open center room with a upper floor balcony that ran 270 degrees around the room. Over ten rooms. Pool, BBQ, furniture, fire pit in the back. Behind the pool was a guest house. In addition to being for guests he had a large workout room built with tons of equipment. On the back of this house was his 6 car garage. (4 on the house garage, 4 on a detached garage, 6 on this)

Moving past the drinking

Rock Climbing
Back Packing
Fly Fishing
Camping
4 x 4
When I can afford too, the indoor Karting

But I digress, I love beer too. West Coast Micros for me. My wife really wants me to stop drinking before the baby is born...its a touchy subject as you can imagine.

When my husband and I decide to have kids, I'M going to be the one with the problem quiting, I love my frosty brews!

My favorites are: Pyramid (all varieties), Negro Modelo, Sam Adams Summer Brew, Newcastle, etc.

Other than reefing, I enjoy: Paintball, smoking hookah, watching baseball and football, five card, going to school (I know, I'm weird), road trips, taking my dog to the dog park, and playing pool.

Yes to the Brew it Up. Great time, great beer, not so great price. I did the Vienna Lager with a group, and then did another one myself. Really good. ($150.00 = bottles)Then the group did the honey lager, but tried to mess with the recipe. Bad idea. Nearly undrinkable. We will test it this Sunday. CAOs, La Gloria Cubanas, Macanudos and even a couple Rockys are on the burning block, as well as a keg of IPA from Sacto brewery. That should loosen the Holdem up.

Thanks for the offer, bored, but the clothes are too big and I've got plenty o' gear! I'll let my husband know, he's always looking for new gear and I really like that gun! My gun works fine though, although I'm sure my husband wouldn't mind buying me a new one just so he can bogart it! I'll pass the links along to my other paintballin' friends.
