other probes??

just wondering if there is or ever will be any other probes available for the apex...such as nitrate, calcium, and so on...

If not what does everyone use for monitoring these other than test kits?

The probes you mention are not available for continuous monitoring; if these probes would be left in water they would quickly die. I'm sure once probe technology gets better there would be investment in this area in controllers.

The probes you mentioned (and most probes with few exceptions already available on the Apex) are for testing only and not for continuous use. Basically you calibrate, use, clean and store; if you would leave them in water for any length of time the probe would be ruined.

Out of curiosity, why do you say the probe would get ruined? I would think some additional probes would be great if they became available. I absolutely hate color charts.

Read this for example - brags about their nitrate probe going up to 12 hours before needing re-calibration - not very practical for our use.

I absolutely hate color charts.

Have you tried Elos test kits? I tried a couple and never looked back at the API, Salifert, and other common brands.
