Sandy, what ballast and bulbs did you go for??

Ed,
The T5's we choose the (4) 36" 2x 39W T5 HO Retrofit kits from HelloLights the bulbs are Super Actinic and 75.25 14,000k

The MH's we choose the (4) CoralVue Lumen Bright Reflectors w/ 400W mogul base SE bulbs 12,000k
the ballast are CoralVue 400W dimmable
from reef specialty.

WOW, looks great and tons of progress... getting close!!!

Great idea on the pumps too. You can keep an extra Snapper on hand and if anything happens to one while in service, voila replacements already there!

That is a beautiful piece.

Hi all,
I know its been awhile since we posted last.
We have the plumbing finished in the system and we have tested for water leaks, of course we found two small leaks at the pump on the return side. It was a very easy fix.
We have been running fresh water through for a couple of day now, everything looks great!
The original crack in the tank was repaired twice, since the 2nd repair it has not leaked again. :D

Today we are going to add the sand and live rock and let it cycle for a few days.

Hi there, just looked at the thread of your build from start to finish and I've learnt alot, Thank you!

I've just picked up some Lumen arc reflectors and by chance find the images of your light rack you have made, excellant! (Just need to find the EZ tube in the UK now to do my own!).

Good luck with the rest of the build looks excellant sofar.

Looks great, awesome job on the light rack. Did the manufacturer recommends the styrofoam to be 1" Thanks

Thank you!

The mfg. recommends 3/4" styrofoam, we didn't want to use the white bubble kind, so we chose to use the blue instead, it is very durable, however it only comes in 1/2".
We spoke to the mfg. and they said 1" will be fine.

Sandy

Are you going to drain all the water to do the sand and rock?

Are you concerned about any contaminates you could have picked up from inside the tank, pumps, plumbing, etc?

Merry Christmas

Dave

Dave,
If I understand your question correctly. We did a water test using regular water, not salt.
We drained and cleaned the inside of the tank and sumps.

We added the live sand, and some of the rock we have been buying along the way, We knew that we didn't have enough LR in the 120 to fill the 375, the new rock was in a Rubbermaid container "cooking" I guess you could say.

After the tank settles for a few days, we are going to move the live rock and coral from the 120g to the new tank.

Not sure about any contaminates in the tank, etc......
what do you mean?

Merry Christmas to you!

I hadn't looked at this thread for a while so you've made good progress. Glad GC came through for you given the bad press they've got from some people.
Check out my build thread by clicking on the little red house.
Thanks
