Our Mini 425 Ocean

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Nothing to update. I haven't had any time to work on the tank lately. Super busy at work. Last weekend I had to get my sons room situated and took this weekend to get away. I am getting ready to grab a flight in few hours. I am heading back to CA for a couple weeks. So I am at stand still for a couple more weeks.

When I get back I am going to start on the plumbing and light rack.
I started ordering some plumbing stuff already. I still have to do some electric and lot more of other stuff.

H20ENG- I was there during the day. I was walking by while they had the door open. So I snapped a shoot.

MICHIKA- I ordered the whole saws from ebay.

Not much to update. I won’t be home for a couple more weeks. A couple days after I return home I have to go to PR for a few days. When I get back I am going to be a man on a vengeance. I want to get everything done above the tank so I can clean it. Note finish everything you can above the tank before you put the tank in.

I did get some work done on my new son to be room. I picked up some 12mm laminate floor with beveled edges. I am going to use this same wood to do the rooms around my office. I am not sure what I am going to use in there for flooring.

While I have been away I ordered a couple 250 w ballast. I already have 1 400. I will either get 2 more 250 or another 400. With my bracing on my tank I have room for 4 MH’s. I need to make my reflectors when I get back. I bought a couple used penductors but they are ¾ and my OM4 is 1 inch. So I need to see if I can sell them an order 4 1 inch. I also made an order from savko for a bunch of plumbing parts. I need to get a little section of 2 inch flex, they only sold it with a minimum feet of like 15 or something and I only need one foot. I already have all my electrical figured out and have been working with ideas for my aquascape. I might try and play with Sketch Up.

I will have some rocks coming for a shelf. Here are some of the pics of the rocks.

Very nice. Is that the cherry pick stuff? I assume 36# is the weight of that particular rock? I might just bite the bullet and order 150# of that, looks really sweet.

LunchBucket- thanks There is nothing like a fat colar wide colar. If something ever happens I can grab my dog with confidence. Cool website I think I am going to order a hat.

Bax- Thanks .Little by little

Dandy-
Yeah I have been waiting a while and finally got pics of what I wanted. They just left to MACNA and will be back next week.

Eric, I've talked to Paul at Oceans Motions about using penductors off of a 4-way and he recommends not doing so.

By the way, which pump are you going to be using with the 4 way? :)

A Dart. Why does he say so. I know it is not a high pressure rated pump but any little help in flow would be appreciated. Is there something about the extra back pressure they create and it might strain the motor in the OM unit. Can you be a little more detailed in why he said that?

Get with littlebluegt (I think that's his name) and he can fill you in. The penductors cause enough backpressure that it can bind the drum if I recall correctly.

Well, don't remember it really. He just said that it wouldn't be efficient, if I remember correctly. He could probably talk to you about it on the phone. Incredibly nice and helpful! :) Plus, there's been talk on the OM boards since 2004-2005 about enductors being used with OM units. Something might have changed by now. ;)

Thanks for the info Hop. Humm maybe I can put some little ball bearings int it to avoid the drum from digging in. One other thing i thought was just using 2 of them one on each cycle. I think that is what I will start off with.

I think I will have my next tank drilled on the bottom. I really like the idea of having flow comming from the bottom. I was origanly scared about having the bottom drilled. I dont know why since it is already drilled for my overflows. On my tanks now the rocks really get filled with deitris, and I have to every now and then take a mj 12oo to blow them off. This is in my 150 tall that doesn't have a lot of flow since it was a FO/LR.

Bleddingthought - I was typing when you responded. Thanks for the info I will pay extra attention why I try it out.
