Our Mini 425 Ocean

good to see your progress eric... I'm finally back from traveling so I can live vicariously through you now, at least until I get back. I check through you progress and things are looking good man. Can't wait to see how that pillar is working out with a picture or two. Keep us updated. Peace!

Well I got a little work done this weekend. I have had family over for the last few weeks and been busy with the baby. Here is the little progress I have so far. First here is the pic of the nano foam pillar as promised. Thanks everyone for the kind words. The white egg crate is a little weak so just have to take a little extra care. Now I have a little experience under my belt with my nano it’s off to do my overflows for the 300. Oh yeah next time I would wait and order the black pond foam.

I started on the base board and trimming out the tank. Here are some pics of the beginning.

I also got an extra maxi mod the Steve the plumb was talking about. It is a little too strong for its bracket. I just wanted to get a little extra flow in the tank.

I am waiting for my calcium reactor when I get it I am going to get all my reactors installed. I am also going to change my fuge and put it on the ground so it is gravity feed. I might swap the 150 for the fuge and get a 150 Rubbermaid for the sump and remove the 75.

I hope to get some real updates on the tank soon. I just ordered my dining room table and want to get the mantel on the tank finished so at least that side of the tank is complete. Hopefully I will get some work done this weekend and get up some good updates...

Awesome build! have you trained your dog to only stand on the rug, so as not to scratch your beautiful floors? :D

the dog probably can't get a decent grip on that slick floor anyway. when the dog and carpet levitate, can you please post a vid?

whats the tank of NOS for?

That's the rest of his MJ-mod! :D How many GPH you think that's worth?

NOS is to be replaced with CO2. much better mixture and fish tend to talk funny after that :D and ich resistant. wow Eric you've come along way with the display, everything look so neat and organize. how do you manage? also what will you be doing above the display as far trimming goes.

Thanks everyone..

CSMGUY The NOS is for another project of mine an old Supra. But I think I may wind up selling that car and go for something a little different. Too busy now to evan think about it..But I think I am over the jap thing. Been there did it. I think I want to go back to my roots. SOmething like a 60's muscle with 600 -800 fuel injected hp...or a rear engine twin turbo kit car..You can get a sweet kit car today for a decent price. We all know rear engine kicks butt..I can wait till the little one gets a little older before I start something like that again..OHHH dreams..

Tbone My dog is so spoiled he wont evan sit on tile it has to be carpet. He runns around like crazy sometimes. It is funny the no traction part. Not funny if he does scratch them..

J and Brandon the reason there is no crap in the house is because my tank takes all my money hhehehe. I actually just ordered a new dining room table. The misses will be happy now time for a controller and some more goodies for me.

Bart Thanks.. but your one too talk. The amount of work you did in the first few months deserved a break. I am just trying to keep things moving. I really think I have been draggin. But I am enjoying my new son.

This definetly isn't no MARC 14 day move. hehehehehe

I am going to make a mantle above the display and put it on a hinge. A little extra work but at least I can get access to the front of the tank. But there is only about 6 inchs not much room to do anythin really but put some food in.

The other side I am just going to use cabinett doors and stain them to match some cabinets I pick up from lowes for the office. They have imitation granite fimica countertops cheap. I am going to get started on getting the doors soon. Just need to wrap a few other projects first..

Thanks danskim and Thiago.

Not much to update. I have squeezed a little here and there. I did get started on a desk and some cabinets. I'll get some pics up soon.

I have been thinking of swapping out my 75 fuge and using the 150 glass and use a rubber maid 100 as a sump. If I put everything down I can use gravity instead of a pump feeding the fuge. I am worried about moving the sand from the 75 to the 150. Am I just asking for trouble. Any thoughts or ideas on this move. here is a little pic of the plan.
