Our Mini 425 Ocean

Thanks Bax..

Yes you did Los..I have had that car for some time. it has been sitting for the last 8 years and I accumulated a bunch of parts. Since I would never let it go I decided to throw it together. it has a fresh motor but need a lot of time. She is taking the back burner now.

Eric just finished your thread.... great work. Hope all is well with the fires. One thing I missed is where your fish room is? Is it in the garage?

Dsieber - We were super lucky thanks...Yes it is. Putting the sump, fuge and equipment in the garage was the best thing I did with the tank build. I will post some updated pics this week. Just had some family down for the holiday but hope to get a few things knocked out this week.

Here are some quick updates. I made some rock pillars for the middle of the tank.. Since I did the tiggsy foam for my over flows I wanted to have some pillars. After pulling out the rock and trying to remove the aptashia I was left with a mess. I figure this needed to be done sooner or later since I would like to start getting some corals.

Here are some before during and

awesome! I have an in wall 300 same specs, plus 2 sumps, 75 gal each, one with fuge/baffles/skimmer, other frag grow out, your going to love the size, mine is chucked full of sps & a few softies/lps, good luck!

idareefer- thanks...

Well I needed to make a stand for the skimmer so the drain was not under pressure. I got it with the 90 glued so if it is some trouble I will bite the bullet and buy a new gate valve. For now I will see how it goes. Who would have figured you would need so many power tools and wood and screws and paint for a fish tank..

I am getting Close….

The 150 fuge has been up separate for the display for a few weeks with a green chromis and a couple bags of pods to seat. I threw in the sand from my old fuge and some new. Some old live and some base well more base or whatever I had .I have wanted to do something with my overflow plumbing from the tank. I think I will have them drain into a 5 gallon bucket where the feed for the skimmer will be and cur a big hole on the side by the top so the rest of the water will just go to the sump, this way I can still use a sock for the returns. I guess I will see how it goes. I also would like this shelf to hold the 75 for R/O water and mixing. I will need to reinforce it or make something else since it will be holding the tank instead of the reactors. It will be easier for me to work on the reactors down on the floor.

That’s it for now.

looks like your a handy guy, you learn so much more if you DIYS, also looks like you have a behind the scenes fish room, if so you will love it, you can spill on the floor, easy water changes, etc, keep me posted on your progress.

eric

Nice update. Let's see that skimmer running!

You know you have issues when you are willing to stack live rock all over your funiture!

starting to come together i see. starting to grow a lot as well. trust me i know how it is . ill just add this , but now i need that, well i guess since i got that, now i want this too! lol. i guess its a good thing that some of our wives just stay out of the way when it comes to this stuff, either that or they are plotting a huge shopping trip them selves, and figure if they say nothing about this then we cant say anything to them as well.

Idareefer- Thanks..funny you mention spill water....I left the R/O on last night and had a little over flow. I can’t wait till I get things all set up. It is pretty cool peoples reactions when they see the tank inside and then realize all the stuff in the garage, and I don't even have a lot of reactors...yet..

Bax - You and me both..I am getting close. Hopefully this weekend she will be skimming. I noticed last week my ph a little higher since I disconnected the fuge and my old skimmer going on the fritz. Hope fully adding both this weekend wil get my parameters back in check..

John - Thanks. The pillars are the cool. I would just next time use some better rock putty. The green stuff is a little weak, I think my rock was still to wet to get a good cure.

tattoreef - I remember i said I was not going to give up much space in my garage and I am almost at using up a entire wall..heheheheh I saw the pics Blaze posted of you tank in your thread, and your corals are looking good...

Hopefully I can squeeze some time in on the tank this weekend. I did get a order from Live aquaria today. I got flame hawk, purple tang, 2 more anthias, and a purple Pseudochromis. The purple is about the size of the smaller yellow so I hope they get along fine. He doesn’t seam that aggressive at this size. I really love his color.

thanks eric also check out my other thread in the large tank area. under tattoo studio 240g 365 total volume. and you will read about my misfortunate week. very depressing. but thanks for the compliment on the other tank. and yeah i know the feeling about the garage , as i kinda want to expand me tank room out there and do more. i think we all need some rehab!

Tatto _ i'll check it out..

kenny - I am almost ready for you to send me a few dozen frags ..hehehehehhehe

This summer I am going to make a frag meet and order some frag pacs..
