Our Mini 425 Ocean

Thanks everyone for the compliments. A compound miter saw is a must have. I have a 10 craftsman and it does great for little stuff, but really isn’t good enough for 6 crown. I just saw a 12 rigid dual compound adjustable miter with adjustable laser at HD… a real sweet saw..I need to put it on my wish list…

A couple updates on my tank. I did finally drop my skimmer in my sump to see how it would work in there. WOW!!!!!!!!!!! it pulled out some dark skim mate in the 1st day. The water level is steady now that the marlin pump has enough water to draw. I think now I can finalize the plumbing and install a bulkhead. I will have a T on the overflow drains that feeds the skimmer pump

I also finished one of my reflectors, well my neighbor was on vacation so gave him some work. HAHAHhhahahahah. What a difference. Now I need to make 2 more for my other lights.

Everyone have a Great Thanksgiving….

Not the most energy efficent but the whole body is full of milky white foam so it is doing its job good so far. It is cool to go in the garage and here the becketts sucking in air. I know they silence them but I like the sound in my garage, gives it a real good sound like stuff is happening in there. hahaha.

Oh yeah I did order some snails from reef scavengers. I got a lot of little ceriths I think, and a few other snails and another brittle star. I wana get some of those 1 in stars. I use to have them all over in my old system. I think the peppermint shrimp are working on the aptashia slowly. I still want to try another copperband. Right now I going to save my money for some frags now that parameters should be in check.

J are you doing anything with DIBBS lately? I haven''t checked there site in a whiloe to se whats going on there way

J ---you rock..I sent you a PM..

bradical --Welcome to RC. It is a MRC 4R dual beckett with a riser option. They require a high pressure pump. The pump use waste more energy than my return pump. I got a good deal on it but if I had the money I would have got a reef flo 250. Maybe down the road.

edandsandy- I still have a long way to go. Getting close though. I hope to have all the major stuff done by the summer. Slowest build on RC hehehehe

pizazmitaz- Thanks..

Here is a quick pic of some electric that I am planning. When I bought my house I got he upgraded panel. I figured with my welder and whatever it would be worth it. I looked in the panel and I have about 8 slots available. I went over my dads and found a few breakers he had sitting around. I need to make sure they will work in my box.

I don't think I am going hook up a sub panel. I am just going to run 2 breakers to the garage and 1 to the office. I will have 2 DJ power strips in the office from there they will go to outlets or the controller. Any thoughts?

Why 30 amp breakers? You should run 20 amp circuits instead. 30 amp breakers will require #10 wire and 30 amp twistlock outlets, which will not be cost effective. 20 amp outlets will suffice, just add an extra one to make up the difference if need be. Then you can use #12 wire and 20 amp outlets.

46bfinGA -= Thanks for the quick reply.. I have a bunch of 30 amp and 50 amp breakers. I did also collect 1 15 and 1 20. I guess I will just go buy 2 more 20. I think all my wire is 12 that I ran to my office so I better be on the safe side. The breakers were probally for welding equipment in his old garage.

I think that is the plan. 2 of the 20 breakers will run to the garage sump area. I am going to get 2 dj power strips for the garage and make a box to mount all the outlets and dj strips. I do want to use mainly gfi outlets. Design it so I can go from the power strips to my controller out lets. Just trying to think how I want to make the box I ahve plenty of wood and can paint it. I also have some old network comm racks but I think there to big.

Now for the hardest part the time.

Forget those miter saws -- they're toys compared to this. Festool Kapex :p :p
Your crown looks good. I hate doing crown molding particularly when it's to be stained as you can't use any caulk. Any good trim carpenter will tell you he never uses caulk (but look in the bottom of his toolbox). :p
Let us know how the RKE works out. I'm on the verge of ordering one and I haven't had a UPS delivery for a week so I'm getting "Oh goody here’s the big brown truck" withdrawal syndrome.

Nice skimmer Eric! It is good to see another dual Beckett slinging the poop :D
Great job on the reflector also. That is one project I have yet to tackle.

If you have room in the panel, I would make two 15 amp circuits in place of each single 20 amp. Reason behind this is controller, DJ power strips, ect have a 15 amp maximum rating. Plus, in the case of your office, if your 20 amp trips, you loose everything. With two 15 amp circuits, you only loose have the equipment.

you need to have that type of skimmer draing with no elbow and no up swing like you have. it needs to drain stright out. thats why it does not work good.

EnglishRebel â€"œ I remember reading someone using sawdust of the wood they were working with and mixed it with glue to use as caulk, than he was able to stain it. I am going to stain everything inside the office with some dark stain. I want it to have a totally different look than the other side.

I went to that site and saw the price whew. I watched that video for the saw and I was really impressed. It is possibly one of the best power tools I have seen designed. Will do on the RKE.

Goodwin â€"œ Thanks. I guess I should make another trip to HD and get the smaller breakers and some more wire.

Frankie â€"œ Thanks. Once I put it in the sump so there was enough water to feed the pump it worked perfect. My pump quit on me though. I need to see what I am going to do about it.

Magnoliarichj â€"œ Good catch. I bought the skimmer used and that 45 was glued to the gatevalve. I was not able to unscrew it. So I have to buy another gate valve but it worked well so that is going to be way down the line.

Marcus â€"œ Thanks.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. I am going to get some work don this week and will post some pics. I got some new livestock and some little frags. My anomie got caught in one of my maxi mods. I think he is going to make it but he got grinded up pretty good.
