Our trip to the Georgia Aquarium + !!!Behind the Scenes!!! *TONS OF PICS*

Yeah, thats whats nice about have a SW tank. You can be like" oh look at the - and the -" and you can talk like you know what your doing (which we do, lol).

The school of bat rays was amazing!!!! By far my favorite vid! Thanks so much for putting this thread together! How did you get a "backstage pass"??? hehe

I went when they first opened up in November, then went back again in April, and am going back again mid August. Not to take anything away from your pictures, for they are truly awesome, pictures provide for a poor substitute for the actual breathtaking experience of being there in the flesh. Can't get enough!

Thanks for the great pictures.

You can purchase a "Behind the Scenes" tour. 50 bucks if I recall correctly.

I would have loved to go behind the scenes. Was it still ridiculously crowded?

Weekends are almost impossible. Long waiting lines, way too many people kind of diminished the whole romantic feel for me the first time I went. The second time around, I made it there on a Wednesday, and relatively early in the morning when they opened up. Much better experience over-all as I didn't have to 'bump & grind' to have a look at a particular something

I was actually fairly unimpressed with the reef stuff. I felt like I had seen tons of tanks that were much more impressive stocking and layout wise, the only up they had was size. I just felt there were too many tangs in the main tank.
I wish I'd done the behind the scenes tour, but I was with other people who really wouldn't have enjoyed it. At the same time, it was simply PACKED. Feeling like cattle being herded through a lot of the areas didn't really help my impression I'm sure. I would have probably enjoyed it much more (I hate crowds with a passion) if I had gone earlier in the day or when there were significantly fewer people.

would love to come to the USA to go there, looks fantastic! the best ive seen here in Australia is the Sydney aquarium, and the big reef display at Seaworld on the Goldcoast ( Queensland). Seaworlds setup is called shark bay and is similar to the reef in those pictures. all look amazing and u should come see them if anyone is heading down under soon!!

Cheers.

Hey Dougie,

Do you happen to have any pictures of these places. Was thinking about going to Australia for the summer and would love to visit these places.
