Out hiking yesterday

I was out hiking yesterday and took a few shots. I'm still pretty new to this stuff so be kind .

Was in Jamaica a couple of months ago

Not sure whay they come out so dark on line but they are not that dark when I print them .

Well if I have to be kind... Wow, those are some really cool pics. I wish I had all that nature around me to shoot. Humming bird is awesome. The green is sweet especially because I wish I was there about right now.

Thanks the Humming bird and the golf course are both Jamaica. The Witch Witch in Montegobay, Jamaica is one of the most beautiful courses I've ever played. Old Head in Ireland was my absolute favorite but the White Witch comes in a close 2nd. I hear ya they aren't opening the greens here for a couple more weeks.

I believe it's a young red tail or maybe a red shoulder. Not sure which we see a lot of both here.

That's the look I was going for. Wasn't sure I captured it though.

Actually I think he was getting a little angry with me. He flew away shortly after that.

Agreed with above... so to be picky... and this is picky...

Photo 1; - wish it was cleaner... there are alot of random sticks criss-crossing the photo...

Photo 2; - the shadows from the sticks cross the image really close to the eye, kind of distracting...

Photo 3; - wow... maybe if there was something at the end of the path, or cleaner/more at the background.. but this is a great photo... i was drawn to it immediately

Photos 4; - two things... the sky needs more contrast... also, the shoreline cuts the image from side to side... i would have liked to see the image open more on the right to show the grass-umbrella looking more like a "special" peninsula...

Photo 5; - personally, i'm confused about the photo... is it about the feeding action or about the speed of the wings, or about the color? I like it, but there are things that bother me... the bird is soft, the contrast is low, the green leaf on the bottom/left cuts the image...

Photo 6; - More contrast would be nice, esp in the sky.. i would suggest flying back to jamaica, going to the same spot, getting a wide-angle and getting close to the rock wall, making it the prominent foreground object...

Again, these are critisims on good photos... IMO, you've done a great job with all, and definately, for me, photo 3 is fantastic, I also really like photo 5.
