Been awhile since I updated , the xenia in my right compartment grew like a weed, so I decided to transplant it to my fish section, the first rock I put in didn't last long before it was completely devoured.
I decided to add more and it seems with the quantity now in there , there is so little predation over the last few months that it is actually growing in that section. The side compartments have therefore allowed me to grow sufficient quantities , so that it is now possible to keep soft corals in the main fish section without them being decimated by the Large Angels and Boxfish. Quite incredible when one thinks I started with one small frag of the xenia.
I am in the process of removing the majority of it from the right coral section and replacing the Rock with Fiji branch rock in there.
The fish certainly seem happier with that extra life in their main section, excuse the iphone video not the best quality but it gives you an idea, I plan on doing a better quality vid soon.
The elysia obtusa are growing in number as well and have eaten most of the bryopsis in the Aquarium , none of the fish seem to eat them and if they try they spit them straight out, there are thousands of them now.
Still trying to get hold of photosynthetic gorgonians and fire coral but none of the Lfs here bring them in.
