kinlayan. first congratulations. i have some questios for you... where do you live now? and untill now ho wmuch your installation, fishes, and corals cost?

This is almost impossible for me to quantify as the fishes have been collected over the period of 15 years as has some of my equipment but ill tell you it is certainly not a cheap hobby and the bigger the Aquarium the bigger your running expenses especially electricity as it runs 24/7 365 days a year!
The fact that i have done almost 90% of the Aquarium myself, means it would have cost about 3-4 times more if a hobby professional had done it.

Yes , i have one but he doesnt seem to enjoy it unless it is actually pulled loose then he may eat it otherwise he chooses to ignore it

Ok I can't control it anymore"¦ very excited about these new fish got them 2 weeks ago approximately,
We never see fish like this in South Africa , so I jumped on the opportunity to get them plus a Scottish friend of mine has been talking about these fish with me for over 2 -3 years always dreaming and after he saw me get these he managed to secure himself a pair too!!.
They are just amazing and beautiful!!! I will let the pictures speak for themselves. The first picture is of them in my quarantine and prior to them being released into the main display.

They seem to be very peaceful crosshatch triggers and no one in my aquarium really was bothered about them, my clown trigger didnt even raise his trigger when he saw them, Only in the quarantine the male was a bit aggressive with the female and gave her a bite on her side fin that was the only issue i had, since they are in the main display they often swim together and sleep right next to each other. They really are special and i really love them.

Hi Elliot, my quarantine procedure varies depending on the species and what i am quarantining. I like using the transfer method mixed with medicine (but only if i spot disease).I willl house the new fish in an approriate food grade plastic container usually 20-50 litres in size depending on the size of the fish with heater, airstone,thermometer and a submersible pump(carbon and zeolite mix often added) and every 48 hours, the fish gets transferred( in a container no net and all water from old container is drained out) to a brand new container and all the equipment gets dipped for 20 minutes in freshwater. This goes on for between 6-10 days depending on how the fish is reacting is it eating etc.This method is a lot of work one has to stay on top of the water quality in the bucket but it is for me far better than putting the fish in a hospital aquarium which would never be as good as my display for along period of time.Water changes are done at least once a day sometimes twice on the container to prevent ammonia and ph fluctuations.
For corals/invertebrates and liverock i place it in a seperate 60 litre aquarium with no fish at all and monitor it for at least 1 week, this an aquarium with a mature biological filter and water changes are done using my main display water.
When it comes to disease in my display the only thing i have "fortunately" had so far is whitespot and most of the fish can fight this off themselves with good quality water and nutrition . and i do use Uv with micron prefilter plus ozone.

Thank you, i must admit i do have some of my favourite fish that i have ever wanted but the diversity of our reef life means there will always be something else i would love to have!
regarding your transfer method of quarantine,
how do you manage to not transfer any water?
since you do not use a net, do you drain all the water out leaving the fish at the bottom of the bucket?
are you using only your display water for all of your quarantine procedures?
do you fresh water dip your fish prior to release in the display?
