Outlet 1074/2 Dimensions

I'm in the process of having my tank built. I'm going to use the Outlet 1074/2 in the middle of the tank and a wavebox down the end.

I want to use Euro bracing on my tank... 2-3 inches all round the paramater plus a couple of center braces for added strength. I'm not taking ANY chances with the wavebox and so I'm purposely over engineering the tank (will help me sleep better :) )

I've searched for the 1074/2 and can find places to buy them online. But I've a couple of problems...

1) I often find the 1074/2 listed but the picture is of the old brown and green one not the new black one (I want black). Am I right in thinking they've listed the new model with an old pic?

2) I can't find ANY dimensions for the new black 1074/2... only the old one. Do you have these dimensions???

3) How to use this product with Euro bracing??? The old model pics show the product as only fitting across tanks 50mm (2"). This will not accomodate a 0.5" glass with 2-3" Euro bracing...

I've thought of having an appropriate notch cut in the side bracing to accomodate the 1074/2 but I need to know the exact dimensions to have this done. Without them I don't know what size to have this cut... as well I need to know the width of the unit for both the notch and the positioning of the 2 center braces (one on each side). Can you please help me?

The 1074/2 is still brown and green, the black and clear ones won't be available until all the old units are gone, this could take a few months, I was told that until November at least some products will still be brown and green. I have 2 of these in stock here. Everything else is the same, they only changed the color, 1074/2 was the designation given to the new design which is independent of the color and came out last May, it still has the higher capacity for flow over the original 1074.

Despite the name European tanks don't have Euro bracing. I honestly would reconsider this. You could use 1" by 1/2" thick glass bars around the edges and bump up one glass thickness and have a far stronger tank. By Timeshenko's formula the main factor of structural integrity is the surface area of the seams, the thicker the glass the stronger the seams. Europeans tanks are generally built with the confines of a glass thickness, so if a tank can be built to 18" high with 1/2" glass that is what they do instead of trying to add height with bracing. I got a tank in from Germany a month ago and it is about 120 gallons and doesn't have one single brace or gusset.

Thank you for all your help. I really appreciate you taking the time to give me the benefit of your experience and knowledge. :D
