Thank you r33hobby. :) I'm going to be adding more stuff pretty soon, as I've been able to obtain some new livestock recently.

Marc,

On the bottom of your montipora pic is what appears to be palyzoa of some sort. Can you id this as I have several that appeared and really sting my GSP.

Yes, that is definitely in the button polyp family, probably a protopalythoa. They do sting stuff and I take the time to peal them off the rockwork when necessary.

Acro crab?

Acro crab?

Marc,
I want to see if you know what this is. I believe it to be an acro crab but not sure. What do you think. Hard to get a good pic of this little dude :)

It does resemble a 'bandit', but I'm confused what those white tentacles with black dots are. Legs, right? Or are they unrelated? I may have a decent Bandit shot on my ID page. I'm constantly trying to get their picture.

The firt pics shows them the best, they are legs with black dots. It looks as if it only has one claw or maybe also a very tiny one that I could not se very well.

You don't think it is an acro crab?

It might be. Missing a claw isn't that critical, because most can grow back a new one after a couple of molts.

Hitch Hiker

Hitch Hiker

Marc, first of all let me say how great your website is! It has been extremely helpful. I however found a hitch hiker on Fiji rock that I can't identify, and wanted to know what you think. Someone on the nano forum suggested a jellyfish? The head is 1/16" in diameter, and when inflated the total length is only about 3/16". It moves very quickly! Its mobility scares with aiptasia. Here are the pics and Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

greenmandk,

[welcome]

I'm not sure what you have there. It resembles some of the stuff in my tank that I label aiptsia, even though they are really not the same beastie. You might post the picture in Dr Ron's forum and see if he can ID it for you. Once you find out, let me know too. :D

I will give it a shot. Thanks for the info and the welcome ( this is a great place by the way!!! ) I'll let you know what I find out.

Dave

Hi Melev,

I use your ID page often and it helps answer questions all the time in our reef club. Thought I would post my 500th post in your thread. Thanks! :)

I'm glad it helps. :) I should be adding a few more critters in the near future, and I think I'll split up the pages a little more since there are almost 100 thumbnails to download per page.
