Over sized calcium reactor?

Is there any down side to having a larger than needed calcium reactor?

My tank is 240 gallons and will eventually be a full sps tank. I have the chance to buy a Reefmania CR600 very cheap. Its rated for 600 gallons.

yes, it makes controling it harder, slower drip rate and less co2....you will need a good regulator!

I use just the electronic box and you bought the right one. You should have no trouble dialing it in. Slow effluent drip and high ph to start and slowly increase either the effluent or drop the ph to balance the consumption with the reactor output. What do you have for livestock now? Remember it isn't just SPS that consume, it is also coraline, LPS, clams etc.

Its just a few fish right now so no calcium usage atm. But at the price offered ($100) I cant really pass it up if it will work for me.

Its just the reactor and pump. No tank or regulator yet but that's the one I'm going to go with regardless of what reactor I end up getting. Aquariumplants is just outside of town here.

I wont be setting it up until I get my LEDs built sometime this spring/summer.
