Overactive Cleaner Shrimp

So my cleaner shrimp comes out from morning till night and is constantly chasing fish, snails, my hand, imaginary objects to try to clean them..... Its even attempting to climb the overhang filter intake tube to swim out the outflow.... Can anyone help? How do I slow it down without slipping a valium into his food?

Wave some of this in front of the tank...

If the tank is not too small, I'd add another. They seem very social, and my two hang out together all of the time.

What are you feeding him? And the tank? Maybe he's starving? Sinking pellets are a good way to make sure he's getting enough to eat.

Do you have hollows set up in the rockwork? Ledges? They prefer to hang upside down most of the time, tucked away with their antennae poking out (aka cleaning station).

I've not got a 29g so adding another wasn't really something I had in mind. He does have a number of places he can go to chill. I've been feeding the tank just frozen mysis and homemade seaweed cubes. I suspct that he is getting hungry, because he seemed to calm down after I sank a chunk of mysis frozen to a rock down to him. And I only have 3 fish at the moment who aren't enthusiastic about him cleaning them for long. Thanks for the advice. What kind of pellets would you suggest?

My cleaner shrimp (Mr. Whiskers) does the same thing to my fish! I try to keep him well fed but he will drop a piece of krill to dive bomb a fish, he's a total spaz! I like your Vallium idea...I'm going to try the other ideas too, I feel bad for him...I'm glad I saw this.

Mysis should make him pretty happy. If you add pellets, I'd suggest New Life Spectrum.
