OO now that I have everyones attention. I am setting up my 120 tonight with dual overflows. This is my first experience with overflows; so my question is do I have to prime the overflows?
good luck. well, first off, what kind of overflows do you have? in other words, when the water enters, where does it go exaclty? do you have durso's, stockmans, custom made standpipes, etc?
nope just fill the tank to where it starts to go over into the overflows and fill the sump to where is should be and youll be ok. If you do have stand pipes, do the same and you can also fill the overflows too if you want. You can also just keep filling the tank until the water flows over the overflows and down into the sump and fills that to if you want.
Thanks for all of the info the water is in and the pump is on. Now I have to figure out why one minute it is draining fast then it returns to normal. Does anyone know the reason for the fluctuation in water level?
It sounds like you've got the flushing problem. Do a search on this term and you'll find more info. I've seen this on my own custom durso. Typically you have to play with the air allowed in to the standpipe to resolve this.
There are to many people on right now for me to do a search. I guess I am going to have to cough up a few bucks so that the search feature is always available.
are you using the drainpipes that comes with the megaflow? if so, probably not a good idea and would be best to build your own, like a durso standpipe.
I have done two mods and they are working fine now. But with the search function disbled most of the time it is hard to get information when you need it, so you have to post until you get the right answer. I had 3 threads going for the same information. I hit payday in the other thread and got the issue resolved it was fairly easy. I inserted a piece of airline in the top drilled another hole next to it and it was good to go. I also dialed back the return pump. HTH someone else if they get to do a search.
