overflow rate

i recently purchased a new used clarity plus 90 gal acrylic tank with center overflow. the bulkhead is a 1 inch bulkhead in which i am going to run a durso standpipe to. the return also runs up through the overflow. i am planning on running a mag 12 as the return pump. so now i can ask the question. about how many gph will the current bulkhead handle? should i go in and remove the return line and make it a seperate overflow bulkhead? i dont mind choking the return pump a little but i would like to keep this to a minimal. any help would be appreciated.
thanks

if you want to use a mag 12 you will need to remove that other bulkhead and turn it into a drain. Personaly that seems like a lot of flow for the sump of a 90gal. But it all depends how your going to set it up :-)

the sump is an old 70gal flatback hex that will house my rufugium, skimmer, and return pump. i was going to split the return to feed the refugium. do still think it is too much pump?

well it depends....if your pooring all that flow into a single section of the sump then yes I would say that is too much flow....but lets say most goes to the skimmer and you have an off shoot that puts like 25% of your flow to a fuge, then it should work allright. All depends how your going to do it.
