owenspackmans 180 Reef upgrade build.

Are you worried about moisture with the phone and your apex controller?
The stand looks amazing! Really like every part of it, the color the depth the tile! I think I'm more excited to see the water pour in than you are!

To be honest, it hasn't crossed my mind. The stand is open at the back so i think any humidity from the sump would be able to escape, I don't think it's going to cause any problems, but its obviously something to keep my eye on!

Didn't do a whole lot today, just installed some LED's inside the cabinet. There's 3 running above the sump and then another tucked up above the wiring. The switch is located on the inside of the cabinet behind the right door.

oh and thanks for the compliments! The stand design wasn't my idea though, I just loved the one Insanityink2 built in this thread:

http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2221446

My tank is the same dimensions too.

I'm looking forward to the water fill too! My livestock can't wait to get out of quarantine and rubbermaids! Should be 2-3 more weeks and the tank will be delivered.

What's your stock list gonna consist of? I Bet my fish were stressed after one night, actually lost my copper banded butterfly! Any plans on an aquascape yet?( sorry if its in a previous post can't remember.)

Joe.

I was actually compiling a stocking list last night, but right now its too large and needs some reducing before I publish it and get flamed for too many fish!

It will include the fish currently in quarantine, two True Perc Clown, Chromis, Royal Gramma & two baby Blue Regal Tangs.

The aquascaping will be using the same live rock from my old 120 shown int the first post, along with a few more piece, it will be very minimalist looking, as thats what i prefer :)

I like the minimalist look as well with alot of negative sandbed space for clams lobos and other Lps. Are you headin more one way with coral or gonna go mixed? How are your regals doing? Heard there isn't a high survival rate with very small ones.

It's going to be a mix. I never had the best luck with SPS in the 120 but I feel the 180 is set up much better to succeed with them. We'll see. I have some Xenia, Duncan's, cabbage coral, zoa's and Paly's all ready to leave their Rubbermaid and get into the 180.

The two Blue Regal youngsters are thriving. They're extremely happy and healthy. Just finished a 4 week treatment of Copper and starting PraziPro now. They're eating like crazy and growing too. Had them about 5 weeks. One was a real bully in the first week, but now they're getting along with everyone but can still be nervous of humans.

When they get in their new home it'll be better, with your entire stock. My fav time of the day is afternoon feeding they all swarm in the area I'm standing at. Excited for more keep the updates comin. :eek1:

The tank looks great so far. I may need to go rereading, but have you said what you drainage system is going to be? What size are those hole drilled in the tank? Just go as large as you can, without destroying the design. What is the plan for those three holes?

I had actually wanted two drains and two returns just as my 120 had. My 120 had 2 overflows, one return and drain in each. But with a good wave in the tank, I found the drains to be inefficient with overflows close to each end.

For the 180 I went for the center overflow. They had also sent the bottom off for tempering so they couldn't have a 4th hole added. So this tank will have 2 drains at 1-1/2" and a 1" return. This is a bigger diameter than I was running on the 120.

Hey man, great job so far!

Really like the stand you made!Your tank is very similar to mine and as it seems they are going to be filled more or less at the same time!

Best of luck to both of us! :dance:I will be following...
