Owners Thread: Innovative Marine Fusion 40

You guys are great. Thanks much. Such a simple question I hated to even ask, but glad I did.

Keep the level as Biz described. Just below the dividers. I have my float set just at the very top of them almost to the point of overflowing. You don't want it to overflow into each other so the skimmer and chambers work.
But you also want it as high as you can get it in the tank and center chamber. Sometimes if the level goes low in that center, you will get microbubbles from the return lines. Some of the 90 degree connectors don't fit tightly and they can suck air from the part thats uncovered with water.
If that happens, twist them tighter or put a layer of teflon tape around them.

Oh no...now you did it..
I have 7 zones on about 3/4 acre. Just angers me needing the expansion module for something as common as a rain sensor..I'll probably buy it, and within a day, ecotech will get the gen3pro upgrade kits...it's only money...

Yep! Can't take it with you. I would personally ditch the rain sensor, the rain sensor is only beneficial to the area that you have it in. With skydrop you put in what you have in each zone ( grass, plants, shrubs, etc) and what type of soil in each zone. The skydrop will than go off the local weather tower in your area and adjust watering based on the weather and how much water each area needs. It will also change times depending on humidity and best time to water.

Now if you need a rain sensor after all of that than I cant help you there :)

Who defines what simple is? My kids took the state math test today for ny (8th) and I was reading it out loud to them ( special education) and some of the questions were hard and very point less.

No worries.

Day 21, check it out

Well. Had to stay up till 1:30 mixing saltwater but finally filled.

Have this paranoid feeling in the back of my mind that the tank is gonna explode on fall through the floor.

That has to feel good have it filled and running. Relax, it is not going anywhere. I felt like my daughter was going to pull the tank down when I first set it up, but then I started thinking rationally. :)

Yea. It feels good. I had the same worries for about a week. Now comes the hard part...

Looking good! Please tell me that is day 21 after the cycle was complete :)

Nope my tank was cycled in 10 days, with live rock live sand macrobac and some ammonia. My not so LFS tested it each day and All my Lvls fluctuated. They said it was safe to put the fishes and the corals in.

Nice... always be careful what LFS say...they like to sale!

Well it took a while, but i finally got the "Missing Radion" error fixed.

What are your guys settings for the Radion over the tank?

Since you are basically sticking a new light source over a new tank I'd go this route:

ramp deep blue slowly to 14-20k (your choice for growth) @ about 30% to start, then ramp down deep blue to moons. No more than an hour a day at 30% for the first week. Then you can start going up an hour each week. Once you hit your desired light time, then start bumping the power up the same way, a little each week.

If there is nothing in the tank yet, why bother? It'll just start an algae bloom..just run the blues for effect now...

I would also say that Biz's apex profile he shared a few pages back would help you set an end point pretty well. Mine is a G1 so it doesn't have all the same color channels..

Soon as water clears up and tank settles in a day or so fish will be moved from other tank along with all of the live rock and 2 filter sponges that have been in there for about a month.
And the rock that is currently in the tank has been cooking in a bucket for about a month while i added ammonia to it. Checked water chemistry before I moved it out of bucket and ammonia was 0. So all the rock going into the tank is gonna be completely cycled. As well as the Filter pads.

I would suggest you take 5 g out of that tank and put it in the new tank to seed more bacteria at the same time as the move.
then proceed with caution..

Start slow just like Reduck said. I slowly brought mine up to where it is now. Apex does not have an acclimation process, so you would have to manually do it. You really do not have to worry until coral is in and start on the bottom. Always ask the place you purchased the coral from what lights they are using and adjust from there.

I want to bring mine up even more. Are you going to be dosing with kalk or two part? Why I say that is if you have fast evaporation than I would suggest not using kalk.
