Oxygen during tank transfer

What are your thoughts on using a mj1200 with a airline to promote more O2 for a 20 gal doing tank transfer method? Is the airline necessary or is the circulation enough oxygen for the fish?

There's a decent amount. I assume it wouldn't hurt to have the airline in there to keep O2 up. The only thing is it causes micro bubbles and it makes it difficult to see the fish. On the main qt tank (post ttm), there'll be a skimmer there.

That's why I would recommend that type of skimmer - no micro bubbles and it does a great job in providing oxygen and removing waste.

As long as the pump is breaking the water surface you shouldn't need airline tubing but it won't hurt. Skimmer during TT will get pricey as you will need 2 of them.

Question....will you be dosing Prazipro during the TTM?? If so....I would say that water just breaking the surface of the water may not be enough, since Prazipro depletes O2 levels.

Agreed, I normally restrict the tubing so that there isn't a lot of air going to the pump, but now I have it opened up quite a bit

If he is using PP then he can't use a skimmer
No skimmer, but the air injection via pump is fine correct?
