Oyster Feast

I think I'm going to try oyster feast for my SPS. Are you supposed to target feed individual corals, or can you just add some to a high flow area of the tank? Also I think I'll feed at night because my SPS always have crazy PE when the lights go out. Thanks!

I never target feed any of my corals. I also feed oysterfeast and articpods about an hour after the lights go off or in themorning before they come on.

+1 with Mark. Just pour in to a high flow area and let the corals catch what they can. Great product IMO.

I use the synthetic food, golden pearls, I also dose it in high flow areas and let the corals catch what they can. I have definitely have had better polyp extension since using this product. It is inexpensive, too!

The size I use is from 5-50 microns.

Personally, I alternate between OysterFeast, RotiFeast, and ArcticPods. I dose one of them every night - but much less than the recommended dose.

we started using it about 2 weeks ago, we just squirt it in the flow and all the corals love it. We alternate with this, phyto feast, EVS spray dried and DT's.

I do have to share that our dendro. spawned yesterday for the first time that we saw. watch the video.

I like all the Reeds Mariculture products. Oyster Feast, Arcti Pods, Phyto Feast. Also use the GP Active spheres and Rotifer size 1.

I stopped feeding Arctipods because it killed my skimmate production for the following 24 hours. Oyster Feast has no different impact than any other food. Anybody else have that problem?

What causes Artic pods to stop skimmer production? Some sort of oils?

That's what I'd like to learn too :)

I'm wondering if my LFS sold me an old bottle that was very close to or past its expiration date. (They had pulled all the stickers off the bottles...)

I love these products as well I have noticed a oily film after using arctipods but never thought much of it ..I would imagine that it is some type of fish oil,my antheias love it and so do all of my lps and sps. I feed about every other day rotating between nights and days ,I make a blend of oyster eggs phyto roti at proportions equal to the total recomended feeding rate. I also shut down my main pump leaving on the circulation pumps for about 30 minutes..

Coral Frenzy works great as well. It does make your tank smell for a few hours though, but the corals love it.

Thats really shady, and the same thing my lfs did so I refuse to buy them.

The new Reef Nutrition bottles don't have stickers with dates anymore. They are stamping the date on the bottle with little black letters.

You can see the oil on the surface of the water when you use Arctipods...

I dose Roti-feast and Oyster-feast every night at double dose, but I've got a BK mini 180 on a 35g system. :p
