Oyster Feast

Thank you for taking some time to help out, it sucks to just have to take a companies word on their products. Im not saying that either of these companies do, but they could say whatever they want is in them and most of us would never know or be able to check one way or another. I have no problem paying for quality products but it can be very hard to define quality without looking very closely or testing which many of us do not have the means to. Basing opinions on stuff like polyp extension and colors and growth is way to subjective.

Oyster Feast is by far the best coral food on the market for SPS. I also use Roti Feast. I alternate feeding days with each of these products. 1 TSP OysterFeast one day, 3 TSPs RotiFeast the next. Hard to beat Reef Nutrition stuff. I've never seen such good PE with any other food and my groeth and color lately has been great. Of course, its not readily available in the LFS by me in Orlando, FL. I order it from Aquarium Specialty online.

On the weekends, before my weekly water change, I spot feed all corals with Cyclopeeze and Coral Vibrance for SPS and Mysis and Rods for LPS.

So whats the general consensus? Is this just ovarian tissue goop with minimal oyster eggs? So in terms of oyster eggs quantity, is DT's oyster superior? Did anyone else conduct a similar observation?

I'm with you, I would also like to know more info, if it is even available. I have a big 16oz bottle of this in my refrigerator and it would be nice to know my sps have something to eat in there when I feed it once to twice a week. It does trigger a feeding response, but are they actually eating it

Personally, I'll never go back to feeding Oyster Feast or any other reef food for that matter. I dosed 1/5 the recommended dosage to my sps tank only twice per week and then within a couple of weeks my rocks started to turn green until I had a PO4 issue. My skimmer would shut down for over 24 hours with almost no bubble production as well. My polyp extension actually got worse because of elevated PO4 levels. The oily substance in the product is like rocket fuel for hair algae.

I now feed the fish better and sps corals couldn't be happier. Same results as others claim, more money left in my pocket and fatter, healthier fish.
