Ozmolator and Kalk Reactor

Hey there - sorry for another question on this topic.

I got a PM Kalk Reactor and the Oz. Will probably set this all up later in the year (wife has other projects first).

Anyways - I read that the Kalk reactor has to "stir" and that ideally one doesn't dose it while it is still in this mixing stage.

If I were to hook up the Oz to feed the reactor - I guess there's no way to avoid it accidentally injecting kalk that hasn't fully stirred is there?

Not sure if my question makes any sense.

I think the only way you could avoid it would be have a timer setup to shut off the Oz while the kalk is stirring and if going that far shut off for the stirring time and say 20-30 there after for the kalk to settle would be my thoughts.

Putting the Oz on a timer will not impact it or void the warranty right? I could see the pump being "on" and then suddenly the power going off because of the timer...

or if not a timer - maybe a controller like the neptune aquacontroller?

I like my Oz's and I don't want to mess with a good thing if I can avoid it.

I dont think it would but Roger could answer that for sure tomorrow, i think a ACjr/RK would be the same impact if any as a timer

The only problem with the timer is that if a malfunction were to shut off the osmolator for safety (after 10 minutes it turns itself off assuming the pump is broken or there is a leak) this safety would be overruled by resetting the power and every time the timer switched on it could run another 10 minutes. Also, I think you wouldn't want to add that much kalk at once, a low steady dose throughout the day is safer than a large dose when the timer kicks on. I would consult the kalk reactor manufacturer but I would recommend no timer and just continuous use.

Roger - I guess my concern is if the Reactor is "on" all the time and so is the Oz -it's possible that while the reactor is still mixing the slurry up that the oz would turn on...isn't that a "bad" thing?

I have never used a kalk reactor before so sorry if these questions seem obvious.

I really would not know, you would need to ask the manufacturer of the particular dispenser, they all of subtle differences in how they work and what is required.
