I have a hypothysis that ozone slows the reproduction rate of Acro Eating Flatworms (AEFWs). Let's try this little poll and see what happens...

Interesting. What led you to this hypothesis? Do you think a dip in ozonated water could help rid a coral of AEFW? Could corals stand up to the dip?

I woul dlike to get some more votes on the poll before we get into detail about this. My hypothysis my be totally wrong.

AEFW are free swimming before they become adults, but by then its too late. I was one of ozone users that got the worms though. :( Dunno, maybe I should have kept the dryer drier. :D

Probably should of had an option I've never had AEFW. I chose the ozone without them but I've never gotten AEFW.

I have not kept up to date on the AEFWs. Are we sure about this?

These are our vermin.
AEFW

Very nice :D

Just a quick question, as I am too lazy to do a search, but will iodine-based dips kill AEFW?

I have a bottle of Seachem to do some dips on incomming frags and this is what lable says:

Reef Dip contains elemental iodine complexed to a protective slime coat for safely and gently disinfecting corals. It is effective against bacteria, fungus, and protozoans, it may be used prophylactically (without evidence of disease) or to remedy diseased specimens. It is safe to use with both stony and soft corals. It is also safe for anemones and polyps.

I would say no .Here is the TMPCC side which dip would you trust :D

Well here are the directions:

Use only in a dip container and not in the aquarium. Remove 4L (1 gallon) of water from the source aquarium to a container suitable for dipping. Add 5 mL (1 capful) of Reef Dip and mix. Place coral specimen in dip for 5-10 minutes, depending on the severity of problem. In very severe cases, a double dose may be used. With clear and accessible lesions, dip concentrate may be painted on lesions directly before placing in dip. Observe animals during treatment for evidence of adverse reactions such as excessive sliming. Prepared dip solution may be used for up to a day, but should then be discarded.
