Hi,

Anyone hosting anemones is using ozone?. It helped me to get rid of dinos ans I still use in the tank, 125 gal with one H. crispa and Two H. hadonni I introduced two weeks ago.

They are a bit deflated. Maybe is ozone not good for them?

Thanks

Ozone should never get into your reef tank. The proper use is to use it in a skimmer or reactor where it can oxidize organics in the water without leaking into your tank. If ozone is getting into your tank, it will oxidize anything it comes in contact with - and not just your anemones.

Yes, I Know how to use ozone. Thanks for the info anyway.

Just to ask experiences with ozone and anemones.

Regards.

I ran ozone for years with a large and thriving purple H. crispa. This is an old picture, with it on the right hand side, while using ozone:

I love posts like these. Makes me feel really happy to come and volunteer time answering questions.

Since you have stated that ozone never reaches your reef tank, there is no possible way for ozone to be directly impacting the health of your anemones. Are you asking whether or not anemones benefit from having lower levels of dissolved organics in the water? The answer is "yes".

You're welcome.

FWIW, I was very careful to pass the ozone reactor effluent over GAC before it entered the aquarium. :)
