ozone set-up advice

Hi, I just purchased an ozone generator, it comes with built-in air pump, when I feed to my old coralife skimmer, the pump chokes, I had to adjust air flow using a valve. But there is very little air flow from ozonizer to skimmer, as a result, I put a"T" and feed skimmer with an additional wooden air diffuser. I don't think this is an effective way to set-up the unit. I really appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.
