Ozotech IQ20?

Itchy Trigger

I've just started injecting ozone on my 330g. Using an Ozotech Poseidon 220mg, and injecting into an Avast Marine ozone reactor with a carbon post-filter... I'm using a Luft air pump and a silica bead air dryer. Not crazy about having to bake the beads and then struggle to get the canister back together. So I started thinking maybe I'd spring for one of the Ozotech IQ20 dryers...

But I know that they need a vacuum air pump in order to pull air, and I do not want a noisy vacuum air pump. I also heard that you can hook it up to your skimmer's venturi, but I'm not sure how I would do that. My skimmer is a Lifereef skimmer, and I think his design is a bit different than most skimmers, so not sure if this would work.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how to make this work, I'd love to hear/read them...

I used a regular hydrafarm air pump. It was noisy, because I bought one entirely too big for my setup and had to dial it back with a valve, but the inlet side will fit 1/4 tubing, which happens to be the same as the iq-20, so was plug and play.

Could you link me to the pump you used? Perhaps I could contact the manufacturer and see if they make a smaller/quieter model?

That's the one I chose. I originally shopped for vacuum pumps, saw a youtube video that had this pump in it, noticed the intake and ability to hook vinyl tubing to it. I think it was noisy due to the size. My sump room is in a closet in the basement, and could outside the closet, but not much. Quiet to me would be undetectable outside the room. It was waaayyy overpowered for what I was using it for, and i'm sure you can get away with much smaller model if the input is relative.
