thanks everyone, i appreciate all the comments!!


sol, the doors and everything were cut with just a circular saw, they're not perfect, but close. i made a fence with a long piece of plywood and clamps for each cut.
the tek light is from 2006, so i'm not sure if they use the same ballasts now, and i can't remember from when i had it open, but there is a 'universal lighting technologies' sticker on the cover.

gary, yeah, that's the thermostat for the whole house. the tek runs cool enough to not affect it tho, luckily...

On Friday I added some new fish, 5 Apogon Margaritophorus, also called red striped or copper cardinalfish. I'd been looking for a group of cardinals like these, so when I saw them at Marine Oasis I was pretty excited!

Great build, looks great! BUT should painted the back. At least put a background up now or if you really dont want a background just do it when you take pics But keep up the good work and sorry for the critique.

the thing that differentiates the A. margaritophorus from the other striped cardinals are the dots or 'ladder' on their sides. I'm not a biologist tho, i just used google :spin2:

haven't decided which species yet.

the other cardinal i was considering is Apogon leptacanthus the threadfin cardinal. they're pretty subtle, but cool looking in groups. i was just reading the RC user Leonardo's thread, he was planning on adding 50 to his new tank.. crazy...

everyone i've talked to about these cardinalfish is that they don't ship very well, but once they are eating and established for a while they do just fine.

Wonderful.
I'm truly inspired.

Always wanted a 4 sided cube, but this is a perfect look/fit for my space.
So happy that I can use a 40/50 breeder and not have to pay top dollar for the tank.
