Hi guys,
Just to let you know, Pacific Reef Tropical Fish is opening their 3rd store in Torrance. Brian at FV said it will be open on June 1st. He said it is the biggest in South Bay area. You can get the address here website at www.pacificreefstores.com. Peace:)

Thanks. I was wondering when they were going to open up. Location isn't the best since it's tucked into the corner of a small/hidden strip mall but we'll see.

In addition, the "new" Aloha off of lHawthorne ooks promising.

do you guys think this pacific reef is good? From my experience they have lousy customer service. (the one in fountain valley and anaheim) And the way they handle the fish is terrible. I use a net to get a fish from one place to another. which I don't agreed with already. To top that off they walk about 30 yard with the fish in the net with no water. and then they just used a flick of the wrist to put the fish i the tank. Terrible Coral suck and price is from med to high. I wouldn't recommend it. But they do have a lot of fish.

Pacific Reef of Anaheim is under new ownership. The new owners are friends of the old owners, and the manager is the same (I'm pretty sure that is the correct story).

I've found the service to be darn good there over the past few months. They are putting a lot of money into improving the store, including a 1000 gallon SPS tank.

So if there were problems in the past, they have made a lot of positive changes lately IMO, with more positive changes coming.

I have no affiliation with them whatsoever.

I used to go to Pacific reef a lot. Now I don't even bother. They have mostly beginner corals at high prices. Customer service is whatever.

I have found their prices somewhat high for corals which the selection is just okay. Their CS is average, but Brian will always take the time to explain things to you.

Retin 78,
Ive been going to Brians store in FV for 1 year now. That is the only place I would go for his service and selections. If you are a terrible customer, you will get terrible service. That is anywhere you go. On the weekends, I have to wait for Brian because their are so many customers buying things. The store in Torrance is going to be run by his brother in law Mike. I met him when he owned the Anaheim store. He is a very nice guy to talk to also.

In my experience, a terrible customer should never get terrible service. Any customer whether bad or good should be treated the same, everyone's not in a good mood all the time. Anyone that thinks "If you are a terrible customer, you will get terrible service" should never work as a service person.

I deal with many customers in my job. If I have to work with a problem person, I will never think twice to service they needs again. They are people who just cant be satisfy on anything you try to do for them. That is in my experience..

Brian at Pacific Reef is a nice guy and like the others said he will answer all your questions. However, the coral selection isn't that great. No colors is all i can say. Everything they have is brown, beginner stuff.

Coral Oasis is still my local fave and Tongs comes in second.

Don't accuse me of being a bad customer. And if I am; that doesn't mean I should be treated with bad service.

And I don't know what kind of job you do. But if I was your Boss I'll fired you on the spot. With workers like you who needs bad customer. Bad employee is bad enough to close down a bussiness.

And if you been shopping at pacific reef for a year now. You are DAH to drive from Riverside to look at brown mushroom and fish that are trap in 3x2 inch box. Barely any room to swim.

For your information, I own a plumbling service company and been in business for a long time. Im sure you are a employee that moves jobs to jobs with your anger problem.

I live in Riverside but I work in OC most of the time. Stop being a hater and move on. If you dont like pacific reef then dont go there.
I like going there and many others do too.

I don't know about other LFS, but I got my 180 custom tank Leemar with front and right side starephire from Pacific Reef in FV, Brian gave me an unbeatable price. I definately will go back there for the best customer service from PR.

I'll withhold judgement until the store is actually up and running sinc I have no prior experience with PR.

The South Bay, unlike other parts of LA and OC is relatively LFS poor (especially given the demographics/demand), so I welcome any new addition to the area.

man Happyasaclam. You are dump as hell with your last statement. Are you just asking me to respond? [profanity] Man you are so lame for an adult.
