Are all you LED's at 100% or did you turn the red and amber down?
Do you use the Apex par meter? Do you like it?
I can never remember if it is a S2 or not. It has No white LED's

Pandora s3 on 125g tank. I'm running Bali at 57% with all 100% except red at 40%.

Mrtint,

The S2 is the 75w version, S is the 145w. I've seen S3 mentioned several times and have no idea what that is. Maybe it is just the pandora LED only fixture but there is no Pandora Hyperion S3.

I'm running Amber and Cyan at 90% and Red and Green at 70%, rest at 100%. Tried to set red at 65% but it seems to like to reset to 70. However this may be a MAC programming glitch as I think, sometimes, when the software reads the settings it only gets partial reads and lists values in the wrong color. I say this because I often get readings of 701 instead of 70.

Regardless, my red is either 65 or 70. Also, looks like the software and firmware updates are for Windows only.

Software and firmware updates can be done using dedicated app:
- Windows app
- Mac OS X
- Android phone

You have right, there is no Pandora Hyperion S3. Hyperion S have 145W panels, S2 have 75W (like S divided per 2)

Thanks for info. I have the 145W panels. I'll try those settings. Thank you!

@mrtint
If you have 145W - be careful, they are really very strong. Never adjust them truing only on your eyes. This panel not use white LEDs so emitted energy is much higher in compare to others with similar intensity(yellow, green and orange in spectrum).
Hyperion S panels work rather like T5 tubes with discrete spectrum - that give Customer possibility for much precise spectrum adjusting.

What would you recommend for starting point on power and LED's for the 145w panel?

It depend what kind of lighting you had before - but if it wasn't lighting I would like to set it on 35-40% and LED daylight period not longer than 8 hours. You can get the same result decreasing lamp power and using BALI Par program.

Perfect so I will use BALI program at 35% to start. Do you recommend lowering the Red and Amber LED intensity

Guys, I am trying to decide between Pandora S and Pandora R2+, but I cannot find pictures of actual tanks running R2+, only older non-SMT R2. Can somebody with an R2+ post picture or a video of their tank, please???

My current LED setup's spectrum and power output is very similar to R2+, but I need T5s to improve coverage.

I think JWCLARK is running the S2 light. I myself have the S panel (145w)
Other than adding 4 more T5 bulbs....... I don't think it would look any different then the S/S2 panels unless you ran all the same T5 bulbs with the same spectrum but I'm a little curious to see too

R2+ has the SMT LED panel + 4 T5s but compared to S/S2 the LED configuration is different. CYAN is replaced with Warm/Neutral White, Amber is changed to Orange and Deep Red is replaced with True Red.

The LEDs that matter: UV, Violet, Deep Blue, Royal Blue, Blue and green leds are the same in both R2+ and S/S2 clusters.

My current LED setup is UV, Violet, Deep Blue, Royal Blue, Blue, Green, Deep Red and Cool White, so I am thinking it would be easier for my corals to adapt to R2+ rather then to the S panel.

Need help-

My sunrise sequence didn't start this morning and I have no idea why. I am starting to test everything but now I can't remember what position the toggle switch is supposed to be in? And what does that button do?

Update...

* all of my connections seem good
* I connected to the lamp and when I hit test, the T5s come on then off, the LEDs flash quickly once then everything turns off

Nothing appears to be working correctly. The program then disconnects from the lamp almost right away

Hi,
Which "test" button you have used? Manual override test?If yes - its normal situation, lamp in that mode reset it self and shortly go into "manual override" mode - which can be turned on for example during the night using back side button.
But after this test(because controller is reseted) connection is broken - you need to reconnect with app again.
Why you want to use it? This not affect your sunset/sunrise without any doubt.
Back side button should be on opposite site to position where computer have "hard reset" - you can't see anything on LCD.
Please contact with service@pacific-sun.eu directly, they will help you and reply to all your questions.
Thank you.

R2+ are rather designed for mixed reef tanks - they have more crisp white color for eyes and after decreasing power of white channel you can almost mimic Hyperion S spectrum(but without Cyan range, important for some GFP in corals).

Thanks for the reply.

I was using the "test" tab under the General Settings tab on the software. I wanted to make sure Inhad power to the unit.

I could not get the lamp to respond so I clicked the "default settings" button on the final tab in the software. The light came on but I had to go to work so I do not know if I will be able to reprogram it when I get home. I will try

I don't want to use the button on the backside of the unit. I was just asking if it was a reset button or something I should push.

What position should the toggle switch be in to program the light? Right now it is in the middle.

In the middle there normal work and LCD backlight off, on top - normal work with LCD backlight on.
Test tab make that what I said above - change lamp state to manual override and reset internal controller after 5 second.

After that - app need to be restarted and you need to connect again.
After connection successful - you can program lamp as you want(or if you don't know how - you can simply use any predefined program - like Bali, Fiji or Hawaii)

Andrek787,

I am running the S but was debating between the S and R2+. I would go with the S unless you expect to keep softies. Since I have LPS and SPS--and my regal has developed a taste for softies--I went with the S.

I'm happy with it so far and figured any extra white I would want could be supplemented with the T-5s.

@Syntax1325
What it mean - Bali "glitch". Can you explain please? We didn't fixed anything with Bali program because nobody reported any issues with that but if we missed something - please let us know.
Thank you.

About ten minutes before the moon simulation starts Bali gets brighter and loses all blue for about 3 minutes before going back to a darker and more blue color...... Here's 20 minutes before sunset..

Here's a photo of my tank about 8 minutes before sunset

This may not be a glitch but it is a little odd.
