Painted black background?

Hi Everyone,

I tried painting the background on to my empty tank with the acrylic black paint like suggested on various sites online and I got it wet when I drilled it today and it peeled right off :P So suggestions? I can't see having a background that you can't get wet on an aquarium, it's kinda self defeating, seeing that I'm not perfect and I'm going to get the back of the tank wet on occasions.

Thanks

My next tank background will be mirrored or a mirror. My g/f paints something consistent with the room decor. Not a bad solution. Not my fav although I have never thought of an alternative until the mirror.

Mirror sounds interesting but, how would the fish react? I know with some freshwater fish that are aggressive they'll try to attack their own reflection, like a betta. Also how would you stick the mirror on to the back of the tank?

We just used black spray paint. You have to really clean the glass well before painting. The corraline will cover the wall eventually and you won't be able t see it anyway.
