painting frag tank or fuge back white?

Just as the title says anyone ever try this?

Was thinking of painting my 20 gal fuge back white, bottom sand color. Then covering it in black to seal in the light. Was thinking the white back would give me some light reflection, and the sand color bottom just for fun(bare bottom). I planned to paint it black anyways.

i swear this is the last thread about my fuge!

my father along time ago had a mirror on the back of his frag tank.He had a hard time keeping fish in it they would just beat themselves against the mirror side ,but the corals did ok

Go for it. Be aware that white sides/bottoms show "dirt" (algae, detritus, etc) MUCH easier than black. If you're OCD at all you'll be cleaning it every day.

For the record, my sump and display are both white on the insides. I don't have any quantitative data but it SEEMS like it's reflecting a fair amount of light (and thus, hopefully, gaining some efficiency).
