i just painted the inside of my canapy, and wanted to know if there is a wrong way to do this? wrong type of paint ect ect

Well, what did you paint it with? :)

You want something that will withstand the heat and moisture. A heavy epoxy primer like Kilz is good, but I have gotten away with several coats of a good water sealer too. Painting it white will maximize the light reflection.

Epoxy does not stand up to any UV or temp. Polyurathane or plain white water based enamal. The white is best to slow the degradation from light. I use cheap water based white outdoor enaml so I can repaint it years down the line without sanding.

First you accomplish paint fence.

All in wrist.

Wrist up. Wrist down.

All in wrist. Up, down, long stroke.

Very good. Up, down.

No look me, look fence.

Bend the wrist. Downstroke, you bend.
See? Good.

Long stroke. Up, down. Very good.

Bend your knees. Down.

Up.

Very good, Daniel-san.
Don't forget to breathe.

In, out.

Big board, right hand.
Small board, left hand.

Up, down.

All finished.

It looks pretty good, huh?

Sorry- couldn't resist :D. I used Kilz primer followed by gloss white water based enamal and so far so good- I did 2 coats of each and definately white for the reflective properties.

^^ thats what i did, not sure on the brands because i didnt paint it here and i dont have the stuff with me. so ill be alright?

you can use kilz shelac based primer sealer which is what I use. Being that it is shelac based it will soak into the wood and create a seal. Doing this will eliminate any other painting. If you don;t have any make an apointment to come by the shop and Ill load up my spray gun and let you have at it.

You can avoid the

down

up

good job Daniel San

and instead

SSSSSHHH SHSSSHHHSSS

all done

I just painted mine with Kilz oil based primer, followed by 2 coats of Rustoleum Gloss White (the only Oil Based paint Lowes carries).

I'm hoping the oil base will hold up, I read somewhere that is what to use.

Hope it works.
