Pair of Signal Gobys?

I want to get a pair of singnal gobies or they also call them twin spot gobies. The only thing is I have a yellow watchman goby, do you think they would all get together if I added a pair of signal gobies. Would that help them all the gobies to cope together? I have a 50 gallon tank, with quite alot of surface area and sand space.

Does anyone have these gobies?

sup money...

these?

i was looking at getting those as well but i have a BB tank...

They are not aggressive. But they feed from the sandbed, very low chance of survival in a reef tank IMO.

Hey Bebo,

Yeah, those were the ones I was gonna get a pair of them. Where are you going to put them if you get them? I thought you had no sandbed in your tank? is BB tank, Bare Bottom?

I swear you should get some sand in that tank, it would look so tight.

I was going to get them so I can keep my sand bed pearly white and plus I feed my tank very well.

If I get a pair of the signal gobies, and if i get a pistol shrimp will they all go together? like one pistol shrimp for the two gobies?

The problem with sand sifting gobies are they eat the animals that are your filtration from your sand...Other than that they are cool

Signigobius biocellatus is not a shrimp goby. They have very poor survival rates in captivity, and in a 50g they would directly compete with the YWG and they would probably fight.

I know they eat the stuff in the sand, but I have a refuge.

But My main concern was quarlls with the watchman goby, thanks alot Nicole. I was just curious about them pairing up with shrimp as well, because I saw my last signal goby burrowing a hole and thought that they could use some help from a pistol shrimp.

Signal gobies usually use old abandoned dens. Without one around, I suppose they'd have to give digging a try!

My YWG's dug their own dens before they had their shrimp pair buddies, but the shrimp are amazing! They are awesome engineers.

Sadly the twin spot or Signal gobies are prety much doomed in our tanks! They are a neat fish but save your money for soething that stands at least a chance of survival.
