Pairing Achilles Tang

not easy to PAIR acanthurus... since most tangs school in the wild and while breeding do it as a group, its hard to sex them - and even if you do get male and female, they will most likely fight. to school achilles you would need a very large tank.
 
There is a build thread here on RC with a 900 Gallon tank that has multiple pairs of tangs, IE: Sohal, Achilles, Powder Blues etc...

He would separate them in the QT system with an egg crate, and then take the crate out for 30 minutes, 1 hour each time etc.. and slowly got them used to each other. With his pair of Sohal's he had them for a few months in QT getting used to each other.

Its a huge tank and lot of fish / distractions.

I suppose "pair" is a strong word. Tolerate may be better.

2 sohals would be nuts! His method seems to be the general way to go about it. I was reading copps thread and his is very similar.
