Pairing different clowns.

I'd like to start my tank with a pair of juvenile clowns, but would like a regular clown and either a platinum, or possibly a Picasso. Would the regular clown pair with either, or one easier then the other?

The pair I have, the male is a platinum and the female is a picasso. I would say as long as they are both percs or both ocellaris the color patterns don't matter.

+1. There are pairs of one perc and one ocellaris that have created interested kids, but pairing of the same species is typically better. Color patterns within species are simply morphs -- I don't think the clowns themselves care.

It typically helps if you get one that is larger than the other. That way they fight less to determine who will be the dominant fish. Just make sure the smaller one wasn't in a pair before and already established as the female(dominant fish). If it is the same type of clownfish(occelaris or percula), that will help as well, but occelaris and percula will still pair up, just not as easy.
