Pairing maroons

I have a pair (pic below). The big fem is nasty with me, biting/ramming my hand, but leaves most of my other fish alone. If they will be in the 60 by themselves, I don't see how you can go wrong. You'll get used to the aggression... usually swatting at her with my hand snaps her out of it and she'll retreat back into her nem.

I have never had Maroons but I have heard they become very territorial so be careful when you put your hands in there to clean the inside of the tank....
Or you could always get a pair of Piccaso's or Phantoms which are more prettier than the Maroons.

I'm not too worried about agression towards me (maybe I should be though lol), just don't want to end up with the Maroons at each others throats. Once they pair up are they good to go, or do I still need to worry about aggression with each other?
I don't really like designer clowns that much. If I don't go with Maroons, I'll likely go with Tomatoes.
I think Maroons are the most gorgeous of the clowns, but that's obviously personal taste. I've always wanted a pair, but didn't want to deal with the aggression with other fish. Now I've got a tank just for them!

I have seen a few Maroons that I have never seen before and they were very pretty just don't know if that was just juvenile coloring or if they would change when they become an adult.
I like some of the designer clowns just don't like their price tags.

The fem will be noticeably larger than the male and darker. What I did is bought a big ol' heffer and paired her up with a very small male. They just ignored each other for almost a year (but still shared the nem)... and are just now starting to take an interest in one another as he matures into a little stud.
As with any clown, there's always the possibility one won't accept the other. Or even turn on each other in time. The optimal thing to do is buy an established pair. Easier said than done with Maroons, as they are not sought after like designer clowns.
Keep in mind there are regular maroons and gold stripe maroons. Mine are gold stripes. You can mix & match them if you like.
